Loving you Too much (MINI Dance Cover) Trivia

March 6, 2024
  • I filmed this on February 6th.
  • Though I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to wear for this at first, I knew I wanted bright colors–as fluorescent as I could find–to match the colors seen in the music video. I think I managed… okay. I could have used my fluorescent yellow hoodie, but I had already used that for a different Berryz Koubou dance cover (“Darling I LOVE YOU”), which I knew would be uploaded around the same time as this dance.
  • I had to go through SO many live performances to figure out what some of the moves were, particularly the moves from 0:52 to 1:02 (and, even within that section, 0:55 to 0:59 took a while to find clear shots of).
  • I had a few different ideas for special effects and/or the border for this video.
    • I made a fluorescent-colored paint splatter border… it didn’t look that great. 😅
    • I considered making subtitles for the English parts of the chorus that changed color as they were sung (like a sing-along), but it also didn’t look that great.
    • The hearts that are seen in the final video were going to go across the top from left to right and then along the bottom from right to left, but I figured I had more extra room on the sides.
  • I’ve had those black-and-yellow shoes forever, but I’ve hardly worn them. I call them my “Batman shoes.” 😆
  • I’m sad that I wasn’t able to include the rap, which is my (and my mom’s!) favorite part of the song. They’re not doing much dancing during that part, though. 😕
  • As I said in the video description, the light blue border is a reference to Ishimura Maiha, the only member of Berryz Koubou to graduate (before the group’s “indefinite hiatus”). I always try to include her color, too, when I’m celebrating Berryz. 😊

That’s all~! Happy twentieth anniversary to Berryz Koubou (on the 3rd), happy birthday, Momoko (today), and Happy Surimu Day (also today because “3-6” > “Suri-Mu” (though that’s not really a thing 😆))!

Thanks for watching and reading~!

Kataomoi. [Short Vers.] (Original Choreography) Trivia

February 16, 2024
  • I filmed this on January 30th and uploaded it on February 14th. I also filmed a solo version, but I decided not to upload it; I wanted to re-film it to change some moves, but I didn’t get a chance to before it would have needed to be uploaded (plus, I didn’t think anyone would really care 😅). This was the fifth and final new dance filmed for the “Kataomoi Dance Set.”
  • Each part was originally going to have completely different outfits in different shades of blue, but I just didn’t like how they looked, so I took inspiration from my “Hatsukoi CIDER” outfits and just used a blue blazer instead~.
  • Airi’s part (in the middle) is the normal color for the blazer; the other two parts were color corrected to be slightly different.
  • The dance break was made up of moves taken from each of the previous dances in the “Kataomoi Dance Set”: Momo’s part does “Tsumetai Kaze to Kataomoi” and “Kimama na Kataomoi” (a “graduation from a group” song and a Country Girls song), Airi’s part does “♡Momoiro Kataomoi♡” and “EVERYDAY YEAH! Kataomoi” (a soloist song and a ºC-ute song), and Miyabi’s part does “Tsukiatteru no ni Kataomoi” and “Kataomoi no Owari ni” (a Berryz Koubou song and a song that I made an original choreography for, just like I did for the PINK CRES. song “Sweet Girl’s Night”). It took a long time to figure out which moves to use and the order to put them in.
  • The first move I came up with for this dance was Airi’s move for the line “MOOSOO zenkai (Tomerarenai),” though it was originally based off the line before the second chorus (“BAKUHATSU sunzen” – “I’m on the verge of bursting,” hence the “explosive” movements).
  • I actually made the moves for all of Airi’s lines first because that’s my favorite part(s) of the song.
  • The moves at the very end were the last things I choreographed. I had two different versions for the timing: the 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 pattern (where Momo does the first move for each move section) and the 1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1 pattern (which goes back and forth down the line: Momo, Airi, Miyabi, Miyabi, Airi, Momo, etc.). I went with the second option.
  • I tried to make a lot of move that showed the frustration of not quite meeting up, such as all of the movements on separate beats. This also includes move such as, after the line “Kurushikute” (“it’s painful”), each part looks away in a different direction. You’ll notice that near the end, for the line “Todoketai” (“I want it to reach you”), all three parts continue looking at the camera, and the palms are facing up, which is more inviting than the palm out position (in a stopping motion) at the end of the first chorus. … Kind of a long-winded explanation, but it makes sense to me, anyway. 😅

That’s all~. Thanks for watching and reading~! 😊

Kimama na Kataomoi [Short Vers.] (Dance Cover) Trivia

February 16, 2024
  • I filmed this on January 26th and uploaded it on February 13th. It was the fourth new dance filmed for the “Kataomoi Dance Set.”
  • I had two good takes for this dance: the one that I used, and one where my dancing was slightly better (in a couple of parts at least), but Kaitou was sitting up and staring at me the whole time. I went with the cuter version. 😆 (Seriously, how cute was it that he waited until I was done to look up at me?! 😭💗)
  • This was another one that was only supposed to be the chorus, but I thought it was such a cute song that I decided to do more of it. (Plus, so much Momoko~!)
  • I’m pretty sure the only other time that large pink bow was used was for my dance cover of Minimoni’s “Minimoni. Kazoe Uta ~Date Version~” back in 2013.
  • I debated putting the bow in my hair or leaving it around my neck and adding a white bow to my hair, but I think the option I went with looks best.

Tsumetai Kaze to Kataomoi (MINI Dance Cover) Trivia

February 16, 2024
  • I filmed this on January 15th and uploaded it on February 12th. It was the third new dance filmed for the “Kataomoi Dance Set.”
  • I couldn’t believe that I was able to figure out another mostly white outfit! I thought I had used up all of my options. 😆 The bit of red was a reference to it being on Riho’s graduation single.
  • I had learned about 70% of this dance (at least, the MINI version) in the spring of 2022. My plan had been to have a bunch of all-white outfit dances with little blips of color for each. (This one was obviously for red.)
  • I was going to have the white scarf with fringe (as seen in my dance cover of “Sakura Mankai”) tied around my waist, but I kind of hated how it looked with the rest of the outfit, so I didn’t use it. 😅

Tsukiatteru no ni Kataomoi [2021 Vers.] (MINI Dance Cover) Trivia

February 16, 2024
  • This was uploaded to YouTube on February 10th immediately after my older, full dance cover of the same song was re-uploaded.
  • I uploaded this to Instagram for my birthday back in 2021. I had just come back from semi-retirement, and wasn’t sure how long I would be dancing, so I wanted to make SURE I redid at least a little bit of this dance, because it may very well be my favorite Berryz Koubou single (definitely top five).
  • That being said, I wish I had waited a little longer so that I could have redone the entire dance (or maybe that I had redone it in full back in 2020)… or even just did it without the TV in the background. 😭
  • I still love how the outfit turned out~. 💖

Thanks for watching and reading~! 😀

EVERYDAY YEAH! Kataomoi (MINI Dance Cover) Trivia

February 16, 2024
  • I filmed this on January 1st and uploaded it on February 9th. It was the first new dance filmed for the “Kataomoi Dance Set.”
  • I had no idea what I should wear for this one, but I knew I didn’t want to wear all pink or all white or pink and white (because other dances were already going to have those color schemes). I eventually decided on purple (Maimai’s original member color) and grey (because… I had that grey skirt that had never been used 😅).
  • This was going to be a TINY dance cover with just the chorus, but I really liked the “chu chu churu~” parts, so I added a bit to include those. 😀
  • I had completely forgotten that this song even existed until I was searching for H!P songs that fit the “kataomoi” theme; I was happy to find a song that not only had “kataomoi” in the title but also had a fairly simple dance that I was able to learn quickly. 😊
  • I like how my hair looked in this~.

♡Momoiro Kataomoi♡ (MINI Dance Cover) Trivia

February 16, 2024
  • I filmed this on January 4th and uploaded it on February 8th. It was the second new dance filmed for the “Kataomoi Dance Set.”
  • I considered buying a pink cowboy hat specifically for this dance (multiple times), but decided against it, because how often am I going to wear a pink cowboy hat outside of my dances? 😆
  • The hairstyle was inspired by Ayaya’s hairstyle in the music video, and the outfit mostly only took the color palette (with the one little pink flower clip added to the belt). That was the closest I could get. 😅
  • The arm accessories were the same ones used in my TINY dance cover for “Aishuu Romantic” (though each side only wore one for that dance).

That’s all for this one~. Thanks for watching and reading~! 😀

Pickle Jar Rag (Haley’s Theme) [Stardew Valley] (Original Choreography) Trivia

February 1, 2024
  • I filmed this on January 27th.
  • I had many plans for this video that I ended up not using including:
    • The Flower Dance section was going to be in a white dress and then it would fade into the regular outfit. I was worried about not being in the same position for a convincing fade, so I abandoned that idea (plus Haley wears her regular outfit when practicing before the actual dance, so there’s that).
    • The little sprites on the side were going to rock back and forth to the beat, but I didn’t want them to be too distracting, so I left them as static images.
    • Each section was originally going to have its own border (for example, the six-heart section was going to have a full beach border), but, again, I didn’t want the border to distract from the dance too much.
    • I wanted to have mud splash onto the screen at the very end, but I couldn’t figure out the best way to do that, and I was on a tight schedule, so I decided against it.
  • Originally, I was going to upload this on February 26th, which is the eighth anniversary of the game’s release. I decided to move it up to not only leave my previously planned uploads for that time intact, but also because I know myself too well; I would have spent all the time I had to wait picking my video apart before deciding I should just not upload it at all. 😅
  • This was one of the few tracks that I thought would work for a dance because a good chunk of the soundtrack is just lovely, relaxing music.
  • The fact that I had a blonde wig and clothes that worked pretty well for Haley’s outfit also helped me decide to make the video. 😆
  • I was quite pleased that I had blue shoes that more-or-less matched my top.
  • The necklace I’m wearing is a hobbit hole pendant that was covered with a piece of sticker paper colored blue.
  • For the six-heart event, you can see the missing bracelet next to the shrub on the right side of the border. When I notice [the farmer] “find it” in the dance, the bracelet disappears~. I was kind of proud of that detail. 😊
  • The “pickle jar” move was supposed to be kind of a “dance-y” way of opening a jar. I thought about the hand movements done by the character Lina Lamont near the end of the movie Singin’ in the Rain. 😆
  • The “tantrum stomp” move (at the end of the four-heart event section) was actually taken from another of my original choreographies that hasn’t been uploaded yet (but was created first).
  • The “pickle jar” and “camera” moves were the first things I thought of for this choreography.

That’s about it for this one! I don’t have any more ideas for Stardew Valley-themed dances, but, even if I did, I don’t really have any other cosplay options. I mean… I do have a blue version of the blonde wig I wore in this dance that could be color-corrected to purple for Abigail… but her hair’s not that curly, so there’s that. 😅

Kimi no Kawari wa Iyashinai (MINI Dance Cover) Trivia

January 31, 2024
  • I filmed this on January 6th.
  • This dance won the “Which MINI Clip should I do next?” poll that I put up on my old channel in 2019, but it was literally days before I developed severe tendinitis in my left foot and was ordered to stop dancing and wear an orthopedic boot for a few weeks. I continued to put off learning it until now because it always reminded me of my foot problems. 😆
  • This dance was quick to learn thanks to the Morning Musume 20th anniversary medley I did back in 2017. The most difficult part was figuring out how to change the ending moves to accommodate the split screen. Rather, it wasn’t figuring out what I should do, but not mixing up the moves for the two sides when doing it. 😅
  • I was originally going to wear my dark blue vest with a navy blue V-neck shirt for both sides, but then I remembered that they had longer sleeves in the music video. I opted instead for a dark blue top that has a long tie in the front (that I tucked into my pants), which was only ever used in one other dance (I think?), “Romance no Tochuu.”
  • I wanted the border to be a little fancier, but everything I tried looked kind of awful, so I went with something simpler.
  • You can see me getting tired on Daaishi’s side (with the jeans) near the end because I had done so many takes for both sides at that point. I’m not as young as I once was… obviously. 😆
  • I had wanted to upload this on the ten-year anniversary of the song’s release (January 29th), but it would have interfered with the “Tilde Dance Set” that I had planned for those days.

(This trivia is a day late because I was filming another split-screened dance and completely forgot to post this. 😅)

Yuujou ~Kokoro no Busu ni wa Naranee!~ [2024 Vers.] (TINY Dance Cover) Trivia

January 22, 2024
  • I filmed this on January 12th.
  • When I made the border, I put the stripes on the left and the polka dots on the right, but I wanted to juxtapose the patterns with the ones on the skirts, so I flipped the border in editing. 😊
  • I hadn’t originally planned on split-screening this dance, but I wanted to use a couple different outfits that showcased black-and-white patterns similar to what they had in the original music video. I actually had an outfit video on my old channel back in the day where I showed something like six variations that I thought would work as outfits for this dance; I took lots of elements from those pictures. 😀
  • It was a bit difficult to see some of the moves, so I just tried to make them work with what I could see. For example, the running in place: sometimes it looked like they were running in place normally (arm going up with the opposite knee) whereas other times it looked like they were running with the same arm and knee going up, so I one version for one side and the other version for the other side. 😅
  • I was going to wear my slouchy white hat for the side with the polka-dotted skirt, but, after watching one take with it, I decided against it. It looked like half of my head had disappeared because the hat blended into the wall. 😆
  • My original dance cover for this was the first time I wore the black-and-white striped top with the attached black vest for a video. I’m a little sad to say it, but it doesn’t fit quite as nicely as it used to, so I will be retiring that top with this dance cover. It’s kind of the perfect dance to end it on, even if it’s a bit sad (this song was one of the earliest requested dance covers I had). 😭

That’s all for this one! Thanks for watching and reading~!
