ピーナッツバタージェリーラブ (Dance Cover) Trivia

February 14, 2018

– This was filmed on January 24th.

– I went through multiple changes to get my “peanut butter and jelly” outfit. I considered the burnt orange shirt that I wore in my dance cover of “Morning Misoshiru;” I thought about turning the tan scarf–also from “Morning Misoshiru”–into a top (like I did for my “Sakura Mankai” outfit); I also toyed with the idea of wearing purple instead of red to represent the jelly (I’ve always preferred grape jelly for PB&J… strawberry jam is for toast XD). I really rather like the final outfit, though~.

– I believe I’ve only worn that top in one other dance: Hajimete no Keiken. =O

– I could be wrong, but I think that skirt has only been used for three other dances: Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~, Balalaika, and Rival.

– As I said, the outfit is supposed to look like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich: the gold-ish top is the peanut butter, the red tank top is the jelly, and the white/yellow skirt and brown belt and boots represent the bread. XD ^__^

– I’m wearing khaki shorts under my skirt (often seen when I spin XD), which I don’t think I’ve worn for a while (but I used to wear them quite a bit in older dances).

– This dance has (what I consider) one of the cutest lyrics in a Hello! Project song: Koishiteru to / Torokechau yo / Marude PIINATSU BATAA to / ICHIGO JAMU mitai (“When I fall in love / I feel as if I’m melting / Just like peanut butter and strawberry jam do”). This line is why I kept the red tank top to represent the jelly! XD =D

– I originally had my hair up for this one, but I decided I liked it better down (for the movement during spins and such…).

– I loved this song immediately and was going to dance to it sooner, but I thought it would be cute for Valentine’s Day (I actually feel like pretty much any Country Girls song would be good for a Valentine’s Day dance). ♥

– I just realized that I haven’t done a Country Girls dance since last Valentine’s Day. O_O

– I sat down awkwardly for the slow part, so getting up was a bit of a chore (and it’s super-obvious XD orz).

That’s all for this one~! Thank you for watching and reading~! Happy Valentine’s Day! ♥

~2017 Wrap-Up Post~

December 31, 2017

For this breakdown, “Darenimo Naisho” does not count as a Hello! Project dance cover, but the “Morning Musume 60’s Girls Pop Medley” does.

– I did a total of thirty-six dances in 2017.
One of these dances was an original choreography.
Eleven of these dances were MINI Clips.
Three of these dances were non-Hello! Project dances.
One of these dances was part of my “Agent 36” series.
– Of the thirty-three H!P dances, eleven were either album or coupling tracks.
Two dances were medleys, one of which was my longest video ever.
Three dances were ones that had already been done previously.
Seven dances were split-screened or had a split-screened section.
– For each H!P group, I had the following number of dances – Morning Musume (any year) = 10 (including both medleys); Berryz Koubou = 2; C-ute = 5; S/mileage/ANGERME = 1; Juice=Juice = 1; Country Girls = 1; Buono! = 3; Kobushi Factory = 1; Tsubaki Factory = 1; misc. H!P (Minimoni., 3nin Matsuri, CAT’S EYE 7, Matsuura Aya, High-King, Douyou Pops) = 8

Just like last year, I really enjoyed the MINI Clips~. ^__^ Some of my favorite outfits include “Mukidashi de Mukiatte,” “Ran Ra Run ~Anata ni Muchuu~,” “Minimoni。 Jankenpyon!” (just for its accuracy), “Iroppoi Jirettai,” “I NEED YOU,” “Sexy Cat no Enzetsu,” and “Kioku no Meiro.”

Favorite dances? Hmm… I’m really proud of putting that massive medley together~. =) My original choreography for this year wasn’t bad, but I can’t help but wonder if I’ll never like any of my choreographies more than the one I did for “RENAI WARS” back in 2015. XD orz

It was SO satisfying to finally dance to “Iroppoi Jirettai,” “Happy Summer Wedding,” and “Ne~e?” I’ve wanted to do them forever (especially the last two). Next year, I hope to get a few more long awaited dance covers off my list~. ^_~

As far as non-dance videos… to be honest, I’m not a huge fan of vlogging. (^_^”) The thing I like most about my vlogs is actually the blooper videos that they end up giving me. XD I’ll probably keep doing Surimu Stories, but I won’t be vlogging as much as I have over the past couple of years. I have a couple hundred dances to get done after all~.

It almost seems silly to ask, but how about all of you? Which of my 2017 dances were your favorites? Favorite outfits? How about your favorite of my non-dance videos in 2017?

2017… I got to do fun things like go to wrestling shows for the first time, but various incidents throughout the year made this a very tough year for me. Let’s see if 2018 is a little brighter~. ^__^ Happy New Year~! ♥

Surimu Chance! Contest #3 Information and Rules

October 21, 2017

It’s time for the third Surimu Chance! Contest (aka Surimuchan’s H!P Appreciation Contests)! This will be an Assortment Contest (including Name That H!P Song, H!P Trivia, and H!P Mystery Pictures). (Credit for the Mystery Pictures idea goes to Celestia of Bikkuri Project, which was a Hello! Project blog I read a lot when I first found H!P; she hasn’t updated for a while, but I really liked this idea).

Contest Information and Rules

The contest begins at 12:00 AM on Monday, October 23rd.

– The contest post will include the following:
1) Ten short audio clips of H!P songs to name (artist and song; any H!P artist past or present is an option)
2) Ten H!P Trivia questions to answer
3) Ten H!P Mystery Pictures; these are small pieces taken from H!P music videos (artists this time include: Smileage/ANGERME, Juice=Juice, Country Girls, Kobushi Factory, and Tsubaki Factory); name the music video each picture was taken from

That means there are a total of thirty “questions.” The person who gets the most right is the winner~!

– Submit your answers in a numbered list in a comment on the contest post. Answers 1 through 10 are for Name That H!P Song; answers 11 through 20 are for H!P Trivia; and answers 21 through 30 are for H!P Mystery Pictures.

Comments will only show up if I approve them, so, as long as I don’t approve them, no one will see your answers except for me~.

Answers are due by 11:59 PM Central Standard Time (US) on Friday, October 27th. The person with the most correct answers will win the Prize Box! If there is a tie, I will use a random number generator to determine the Prize Box winner.

– This contest is open to everyone worldwide~!

Please Note: Winners will need to provide a mailing address to receive the Prize Box; after all, I need to be able to ship it to you! [[Addresses will ONLY be shared in a private message/e-mail; they will NOT be made public.]]

Please Note: The winners for the previous contests are not be eligible to win. I’d like others to have a chance to get prizes, too!

The Prize Box will contain:
– 1 regular edition H!P single CD of the winner’s choice
– Set of eight Ivybourn Workshop buttons of the winner’s choice
– Various bonus prizes (The winner will be sent pictures of the bonus prizes to choose from; there are some new ones since the last contest!)

Remember, it’s the person who gets the most right, NOT the first person to send in their answers who wins~. =)

Good luck to those participating~!

Surimuchan [ Now] #20 – June 2017

June 30, 2017

– I bought all six of the Marvel Oz comics on my Kindle (art by Skottie Young), and I’ve gotten through four-and-a-half of them~. I’ve always loved the Oz books, but I’ve been so frustrated with most of the adaptations because they always seem to stray so far from the books. These do a wonderful job of bringing the books to life, though! I only wish they could have done all of the original Oz books for this series… but I’m content with these few~.
– I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales earlier this month. I definitely preferred it to the last one, but nothing will ever, ever beat the first one.
– I played through Castlevania: Symphony of the Night again~! I actually did it about two hours faster than my fastest playthrough… but I had to sacrifice 0.1 percent completion to do so. orz I only had 200.3% instead of my usual 200.4%. Ah, well… XD
– For music this month… lots of °C-ute early on, then lots of Berryz Koubou, Country Girls, and Buono!… but I had a few super-random songs stuck in my head for a while. My brother was telling me how he had randomly watched the videos for some songs that had been popular a while back and he started played one. I was only half listening at first, but once the music started I automatically started singing along to his surprise (and mine actually XD). That song was “The Way You Love Me” by Faith Hill. After that, I also listened to “This Kiss” (also by Faith Hill) and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” and “You’re Still the One” by Shania Twain. They were all really popular when I was in about 3rd grade, so they made me really nostalgic. =)
– As usual, I’ve been watching RAW and SmackDown every week. I also started watching some older NXT episodes on the WWE Network.

A bunch of older H!P CDs – They’re used, but in very good condition (it’s so much cheaper).
– A handful of songs on iTunes – Besides the five that I mentioned earlier (yeah, I bought them XD), I got some more WWE themes. (Tye Dillinger’s is super-catchy~.)
TICKETS~! I got tickets to an NXT show next month as well as tickets to this year’s TLC in October (the day before my birthday)~~!!! They were a bit spendy, but I’m really excited~.
– Misc. WWE merchandise – Against my better judgement, I bought a few more wrestling shirts (NXT, Breezango, and Sami Zayn), as well as a few mugs (two of them were gifts; the third was a clear Bálor Club mug), a Money in the Bank lunchbox (to store my dog tags), and the WrestleMania 33 Blu-ray (it wasn’t the most amazing show (it was SO long), but it had a few great moments, and it was the first WrestleMania since I started watching, so…)

– °C-ute and Tsugunaga Momoko graduated from Hello! Project. This obviously has nothing to do with me, but I just feel a bit empty. TT_TT
– The first Surimu Chance! Contest began and ended… only two participants. (^_^”) Maybe no one wants to give out their address? Maybe I should try to change how I do these contests or something… orz
– In happier news, I had an impression taken of my upper teeth, so I believe my next appointment will be the deband check, which means my braces should be coming off sooooon~~~~! I can’t wait to eat trail mix again. XD

– I wanted to do a few summery MINI Clips next month, but I don’t know how much time I’m going to have. =/ I have one of them done (Chu! Natsu Party), along with one dance cover (Happy Summer Wedding), but my hours have been pretty much maxed out at work every week, so I don’t have a ton of down time. You may have to put up with a bunch of Surimu Stories in the meantime. m(_ _)m

– The original Oz books (by L. Frank Baum) and/or the Marvel Oz comics! I feel like Oz is one of those forgotten fantasy lands (even though there has been to~~ns of content coming out for it; it is public domain after all).

Let me know your answers in the comments~!! ^__^

Thanks for reading~!

ランラルン ~あなたに夢中~ (Dance Cover) Trivia

February 14, 2017

– I filmed this dance on January 22nd (I love getting videos done early)~.

– I wanted to dance to this ever since the song came out, so I was really sad (and/or irritated XD) that there wasn’t a dance shot for it. Luckily, I could see the dance well enough in the live performances and music video to piece it together.

– That outfit was ridiculously warm. O__O I was wearing three tops (a tank top, the red shirt, and the white sleeveless shirt on top) and three skirts (two red ones under the white one for added fluff).

– I added a red frill, a large red bow, some ribbon, and heart and diamond shapes to the outfit as well as a hair accessory in an attempt to match Manakan’s outfit. … I rather like how it turned out, actually.

– The background is made up of two blue sheets, two black, plastic tablecloths, construction paper stars and a moon, and two fold out cityscape backgrounds that I bought from the party section of a store. XD Again… I rather like how it turned out (cheap as it looks XD).

– I really felt like the video needed a little more red to tie into the outfit, so I added the “curtains” on the sides and in the intro/outro. I thought they looked kind of cute~. ^_^

– I couldn’t help but do Momo’s crisp stepping. XD That’s actually how my mom remembers this song: the one with “Momo’s walk.” XD

– I pointed right at the moon around 2:24. … Pretty proud of myself. XD

That’s all for this one~. Thanks for watching and reading, and Happy Valentine’s Day~!

Outfits for Upcoming ムキダシで向き合って and ランラルン ~あなたに夢中~ Dance Covers

January 27, 2017

As I said in the previous post, I’ll be posting outfit previews on here before I put them on my Facebook page from now on (or until I change my mind, at least XD). So, here are the outfits I will be wearing in my dance covers for Morning Musume。’16’s 「ムキダシで向き合って」 (Mukidashi de Mukiatte; officially translated as “Confront with Bare Nakedness,” but I think the translation of “Face It With Frankness” is better (^_^”)) and Country Girls’ ランラルン ~あなたに夢中~(Ran Ra Run ~Anata ni Muchuu; “Ran Ra Run ~Crazy About You~”), respectively.

The 「ムキダシで向き合って」 dance cover will be uploaded on February 1st. I followed Eripon’s part for the dance.

The ランラルン ~あなたに夢中~ will be uploaded for Valentine’s Day on February 14th. I mostly followed Manakan’s part for the dance. (Look! I even got Manakan’s pouting pose from the music video in one of my pictures! XD)

~Update 56~

January 25, 2017

What’s this?! An ~Update~ post?! The last time I made one of these was… over three-and-a-half years ago! O__O So, what the occasion? … Nothing really. XD

That poll that I posted the other day had the results I expected (even though the turnout was pretty abysmal orz); it seems most people know about my new videos through YouTube (subscription notifications, I’m guessing?) as opposed to it being shared on Facebook, Twitter, or anywhere else. However, there were still votes for Facebook and Twitter, so it looks like my original plan (to stop using the two altogether) wouldn’t be the best idea. (^_^”)> I was a little sad to see that no one mentioned Instagram or this blog, because those were the two things that I was always going to keep. XD

Anyway, you may have noticed that I made a few updates to the Surimu☆Channel blog. On the side bar, you can now search my blog for specific words (try typing in “cheese balls” or “botan” or “chipmunk”… can you believe they all have results on this blog? XD). I’ve also added my Twitter feed on the sidebar (though I usually only post links to my videos on Twitter… (^_^”)), and (I’m rather excited about this one) I changed the Archives to a drop-down menu~! SO much better~.

Well, since you have been kind enough to visit my blog (which holds a special place in my heart, because I had it long before my Facebook page or Twitter or Instagram or a Wiki page and before I was doing tutorials or vlogs… where was I? XD), I’ll let you in on a little something or two… I’ve already mentioned a couple of times that this blog is the first place that I post my dances after they’re uploaded (even before I officially make them public), but I’m also planning to make it the first place to find out what videos/dances are coming up next. =D That being said, here’s what you have to look forward to in the next few weeks:

– January 30th – Surimuchan [Now] #15
– February 1st – Mukidashi de Mukiatte (Dance Cover)
– February 14th – Ran Ra Run ~Anata ni Muchuu~ (Dance Cover)

A few things to note: I’ll only mention upcoming dances that are already done being filmed. I just finished filming “Mukidashi de Mukiatte” a little over an hour ago, and I filmed “Ran Ra Run” super-early in the morning this past Sunday (the new header on this blog already shows the outfit and background for that one~). I’ll get full outfit preview pictures up on here for both dances before I put them up on Facebook.

I also plan to have something uploaded between the two dance covers, though I’m not sure what yet. I could do another Terrible Auto-Caption video or a Vlog Blooper video… maybe I’ll get another MINI Tutorial done by then… who knows? I may also eventually put the entire Agent 36 series into one video (just the “drama” parts); I’m debating as to whether or not I should do a commentary or just do a trivia post like usual… *shrug*

So! How’s that for an update? =D Thanks for reading~!

~2016 Wrap-Up Post~

January 14, 2017

My year-end post is a little late. (^_^”) Here’s a quick breakdown (the split-screened and solo versions of “Magical Christmas” are considered two separate dances, and Up Up Girls (仮) is not considered H!P):

– I did a total of twenty-nine dances in 2016.
Three of these dances were original choreographies.
Five of these dances were MINI Clips.
Nine of these dances were non-Hello! Project dances.
Five of these dances were part of my “Agent 36” series.
– Of the twenty H!P dances, twelve of them were from singles/albums released in 2011 or earlier.
– Also, nine of the twenty H!P dances were album or coupling tracks (including “Iron Heart” for the °C-ute Dance Tribute).
One dance was one that had already been done previously.
– For each H!P group, I had the following number of dances – Morning Musume (any year) = 9; Berryz Koubou = 1; °C-ute = 2 (including the dance tribute); S/mileage/ANGERME = 2; Juice=Juice = 2; Country Girls = 1; misc. H!P (Buono!, Abe Natsumi, Mano Erina) = 3

Instead of giving a few comments for each video, I thought I’d just give a few general comments.
As far as my favorite dances, I was actually rather happy with the MINI Clips. They were each short and fun with something different (background, split screen…), so I still have fun watching them. The full dances though… orz Maybe I’m just being harder on myself than usual? I had had high hopes for “Shiroi Yuki no Princess wa” to maybe be another one of my “big” dance covers, but it didn’t do as well as I had hoped it would. (^_^”) I was pretty happy that I got a video uploaded on February 29th. XD “Daisuki Dakara Zettai ni Yurusanai” didn’t turn out too badly. I think I might have ended up liking the “Agent 36” episodes more than the dances that corresponded with them. XD orz “Party People Alien” was kind of fun. “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!” and “Rival,” while okay were more of a relief to get done than anything, I think. (^_^”) I was super-excited with the warm reception for “Utakata Saturday Night!” ^__^ I feel a little bad about my °C-ute dance tribute; while I did work very hard to make everything work out and flow well, I can’t help but feel like it seems a bit rushed… because it kind of was. XD I only had, what, a couple of weeks or so to get it done in time for °C-uteの日. Just like with “Utakata Saturday Night!,” it was kind of exhilarating to be able to do a newer dance with “Oh my wish!” “Every Day Halloween” and “Magical Christmas” were fun dances to make because I got to be creative; “Every Day Halloween” will forever remind me of when I first got into watching wrestling because it has a bunch of references in the dance, and “Magical Christmas” was fun because I kind of love doing partially seated dances. =D I was proud of my improvement after I did “Kimagure Princess” again (ugh that first one… XD). And finally, “Kira Kira Fuyu no Shiny G” is a dance I had planned to do for Christmas for years, so it was nice to finally do it~.

So, basically… my MINI Clips were probably my favorites from my 2016 dances. I think I did more vlogs and “other” videos than I did dances (well, I definitely did), but that’s because I’ve been trying to upload at least once every week (which I have since the around the second week of October in 2015!!).

How about all of you? Which of my 2016 dances were your favorites? How about from my non-dance videos in 2016?

As far as 2016 in general… well, let’s just say I feel rather stupid about last year’s wrap-up post. XD What can I say… I was excited and hopeful, but then life just kind of slapped me upside the head. (^_^”) Thanks for continuing to put up with me~. =) (Also, it seems this is my 500th post on this blog~! =D)
