Be on the lookout for at least one more contest (hopefully before the end of the summer)~! =D

れでぃぱんさぁ (Dance Cover) Trivia

August 3, 2017

– Does the outfit look familiar? =D It’s pretty much the panther costume from Episode 3 of Agent 36. I just changed the hairstyle and wore different boots (ones that were easier to dance in). ^__^

– Because I felt that there wasn’t too much to this dance, I wanted to add a little something extra to this video, which is why the (rather adorable) little paw print border is there~.

– I don’t know why, but one of my favorite moves is during the line “goro goro goro goro amaechau” around 1:25 (or maybe it’s just one of my favorite parts in the song…?). I also like the little shimmy during the “nakami wa lady panther” and “wagamama lady panther” lines. XD

– I actually bought a leopard print ears headband for this dance, but the coloring was too bright, so it didn’t go with my tank top at all. orz Instead, I just used the same outline ears headband from Agent 36 (their coloring was closer to the tank top, though you can’t really see it).

– For a little while, I practiced that one part during the chorus by bending my knees inward each time because the live performances I watched didn’t show what they were doing. I eventually found one that showed the actual moves being “out, center, in” for the knee movements, so I had to fix it. (^_^”)

I think that’s all for this one~. Thanks for watching and reading~!

Surimuchan [Now] #21 – July 2017

July 31, 2017

Here’s this month’s Surimuchan [Now]~! Don’t forget that my second Surimu Chance! Contest is open until 11:59 PM on Thursday, August 3rd! It’s the post just before this one!

Entertainment
Anne with an E (Netflix) – I rather liked it, but I was a little surprised by how dark it got sometimes. Having never read the book(s), I wondered about the opinions of those who had, so I checked out reviews on imdb.com to find that the show had indeed deviated from the books and added some stuff. I also learned that I should probably check out the version from the 80s because a lot of people seem to love (and prefer) that one.
Albion: The Enchanted Stallion (Netflix) – Okay, so this might be on the same level as some of the “cheesy Hallmark-type B-movie fantasies,” but I watched this after a lot of not-so-great days, and it was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. ^_^
La Belle et la Bête (Netflix) – A live-action Beauty and the Beast~. As much as I love the Disney storyline (it is my favorite of the Disney Animated films), it was actually really refreshing to watch one that followed the original fairy tale more. It’s in French, so I couldn’t really work on anything while it was on, but that’s fine because I would have missed the lovely sets and costumes.
– As for music, one song that got stuck in my head a lot was, oddly enough, the entrance music for Mike and Maria Kanellis: True Love. XD
– I started reading “Phantastes, a Faerie Romance for Men and Women” by George MacDonald. I’m not too far in, but it’s got some rich imagery from what I have read~. =)

Purchases
Gachinko de Ikou! single – I really wanted a physical copy of this one, because it’s one of my favorite Buono! singles~.
– Some more wrestling stuff… I got some Jeff Hardy arm sleeves, but, unfortunately, they were too big. T_T A couple of the items were gifts (a List of Jericho clipboard for my mom and a Becky Lynch lunch box for my sister).
– A couple of items from the “Tsugunaga Momoko Memorial Event: Momogatari” (the USB as well as an A5 photo set).
– A Blu-ray copy of “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone” – I’ve been waiting to see this since it was announced back in January~. I liked it! (HBK being in it was an added bonus~.) =D
Two C.S. Lewis books, both with various pieces from his various writings (Mere Christianity, A Grief Observed, Miracles, etc.)

Happenings
– The main thing, of course… I went to an NXT show on the 29th~! It was a lot of fun! I was super-excited to see wrestlers like Drew McIntyre, Hideo Itami, Ember Moon, and others~. ^__^ We stopped by Treasure City before the show, and I got a giant German chocolate doughnut sort of pastry after the show. XD
– I think it was near the beginning of this month… I was looking at something that was posted on one side of a door, and someone came through the door really quickly. I had been holding the paper on the door up to look at the one underneath it, so my arm was up and I took the door square on my elbow. O__O I haven’t lifted weights since, but I should be healed enough by now to start again. (^_^”)
– Another stupid injury… I was grabbing some boots from my closet while sitting on the floor. I had one hand on the floor while I opened the closet door with the other hand. I didn’t notice that the hand on the floor was so close to the door, so I ended up jamming the door into the fingernail of the middle finger of my right hand. It bent the nail back far enough for it to start bleeding, and I was in excruciating pain for the next couple of days. (The pain actually woke me up at one point.) orz But that’s all healed up now, too~.

Plans
My Neko Dance Set will be uploaded early next month. After that, I have a couple more SurimuChats to upload before I switch over to the shorter Surimu Stories for vlogs.

Recommendation
Lisa Michelle on YouTube~! She does amazing H!P song covers! =D

Let me know your answers in the comments~!! ^__^

Surimu Chance! Contest #2 – H!P Mystery Pictures – H!P Kids

July 31, 2017

Please read the Information and Rules post completely if you choose to participate~.

Here are the pictures.

Mystery Pics 2, 1-10Mystery Pics 2, 11-20Mystery Pics 2, 21-30

Please comment on this post with your answers. Your comment should be a list with your guess next to the number of the picture, like this:
1) [[Guess for Picture 1]]
2) [[Guess for Picture 2]]
etc.

Remember, you only need to say the name of the song for the music video that picture was taken from. You don’t need to say exactly what is in the picture or which version of the single’s music video it is from. =) Also, if you can’t figure it out/don’t have a guess, you can leave the number blank.

One more note: BeriKyuu songs and songs by groups that were only partially made of H!P Kids (ZYX, High-King, etc.) were not included in these pictures~.

This contest ends at 11:59 PM (Central Standard Time (US)) on Thursday, August 3rd.

Good luck, and have fun~!

Surimu Chance! Contest #2 Information and Rules

July 30, 2017

It’s time for the second Surimu Chance! Contest (aka Surimuchan’s H!P Appreciation Contests)! This will be a Hello! Project Mystery Pictures Contest (credit for this idea goes to Celestia of Bikkuri Project, which was a Hello! Project blog I read a lot when I first found H!P; she hasn’t updated for a while, but I really liked this idea). The theme is H!P Kids.

Contest Information and Rules

– The contest will begin at 12:00 AM Central Standard Time (US) on Monday, July 31st.

– The contest post will contain thirty mystery pictures. These pictures are small pieces taken from Berryz Koubou, °C-ute, and Buono! music videos. All you need to do is write out the name of the music video each picture was taken from. The person who gets the most right is the winner~!

– Submit your answers in a numbered list in a comment on the contest post. Comments will only show up if I approve them, so, as long as I don’t approve them, no one will see your answers except for me~.

– Pictures are from official Berryz Koubou, °C-ute, and Buono! music videos; A-sides, B-sides, or album tracks that have had official music videos made for them are all eligible options. Different versions for music videos (Another Version, Close Up, etc.) are also eligible options.

– You only need to write the name of the song and not exactly what is in the picture or which version of the music video it’s from.

Answers are due by 11:59 PM Central Standard Time (US) on Thursday, August 3rd. The person with the most correct answers will win the Prize Box! If there is a tie, I will use a random number generator to determine the Prize Box winner.

– This contest is open to everyone worldwide~!

Please Note: Winners will need to provide a mailing address to receive the Prize Box; after all, I need to be able to ship it to you! [[Addresses will ONLY be shared in a private message/e-mail; they will NOT be made public.]]

Please Note: The winner for this contest will not be eligible for the next two contests. I’d like others to have a chance to get prizes, too!

The Prize Box will contain:
– 1 regular edition H!P single CD of the winner’s choice
– Set of eight Ivybourn Workshop buttons of the winner’s choice
– Various bonus prizes (The winner will be sent pictures of the bonus prizes to choose from; there are some new ones since the last contest!)

Remember, this contest starts at midnight (12 AM Central Standard Time (US), Monday, July 31st). Also remember that it’s the person who gets the most right, NOT the first person to send in their answers who wins~. =)

Good luck to those participating~!

Surimuchan [ Now] #20 – June 2017

June 30, 2017

Entertainment
– I bought all six of the Marvel Oz comics on my Kindle (art by Skottie Young), and I’ve gotten through four-and-a-half of them~. I’ve always loved the Oz books, but I’ve been so frustrated with most of the adaptations because they always seem to stray so far from the books. These do a wonderful job of bringing the books to life, though! I only wish they could have done all of the original Oz books for this series… but I’m content with these few~.
– I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales earlier this month. I definitely preferred it to the last one, but nothing will ever, ever beat the first one.
– I played through Castlevania: Symphony of the Night again~! I actually did it about two hours faster than my fastest playthrough… but I had to sacrifice 0.1 percent completion to do so. orz I only had 200.3% instead of my usual 200.4%. Ah, well… XD
– For music this month… lots of °C-ute early on, then lots of Berryz Koubou, Country Girls, and Buono!… but I had a few super-random songs stuck in my head for a while. My brother was telling me how he had randomly watched the videos for some songs that had been popular a while back and he started played one. I was only half listening at first, but once the music started I automatically started singing along to his surprise (and mine actually XD). That song was “The Way You Love Me” by Faith Hill. After that, I also listened to “This Kiss” (also by Faith Hill) and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” and “You’re Still the One” by Shania Twain. They were all really popular when I was in about 3rd grade, so they made me really nostalgic. =)
– As usual, I’ve been watching RAW and SmackDown every week. I also started watching some older NXT episodes on the WWE Network.

Purchases
A bunch of older H!P CDs – They’re used, but in very good condition (it’s so much cheaper).
– A handful of songs on iTunes – Besides the five that I mentioned earlier (yeah, I bought them XD), I got some more WWE themes. (Tye Dillinger’s is super-catchy~.)
TICKETS~! I got tickets to an NXT show next month as well as tickets to this year’s TLC in October (the day before my birthday)~~!!! They were a bit spendy, but I’m really excited~.
– Misc. WWE merchandise – Against my better judgement, I bought a few more wrestling shirts (NXT, Breezango, and Sami Zayn), as well as a few mugs (two of them were gifts; the third was a clear Bálor Club mug), a Money in the Bank lunchbox (to store my dog tags), and the WrestleMania 33 Blu-ray (it wasn’t the most amazing show (it was SO long), but it had a few great moments, and it was the first WrestleMania since I started watching, so…)

Happenings
– °C-ute and Tsugunaga Momoko graduated from Hello! Project. This obviously has nothing to do with me, but I just feel a bit empty. TT_TT
– The first Surimu Chance! Contest began and ended… only two participants. (^_^”) Maybe no one wants to give out their address? Maybe I should try to change how I do these contests or something… orz
– In happier news, I had an impression taken of my upper teeth, so I believe my next appointment will be the deband check, which means my braces should be coming off sooooon~~~~! I can’t wait to eat trail mix again. XD

Plans
– I wanted to do a few summery MINI Clips next month, but I don’t know how much time I’m going to have. =/ I have one of them done (Chu! Natsu Party), along with one dance cover (Happy Summer Wedding), but my hours have been pretty much maxed out at work every week, so I don’t have a ton of down time. You may have to put up with a bunch of Surimu Stories in the meantime. m(_ _)m

Recommendation
– The original Oz books (by L. Frank Baum) and/or the Marvel Oz comics! I feel like Oz is one of those forgotten fantasy lands (even though there has been to~~ns of content coming out for it; it is public domain after all).

Let me know your answers in the comments~!! ^__^

I NEED YOU (Dance Cover) Trivia

June 22, 2017

– I filmed this on June 12th.

– I actually had a couple different options for a “Momo graduation dance” besides this one: Berryz Koubou’s “Gag 100kaibun Aishite Kudasai” (because it pretty much is Momo’s song) and Country Girls’ “Peanut Butter Jelly Love” (because it was the more Momo-like song from her last single). I didn’t do either of those because I decided that I’m going to follow someone other than Momo for those dances. (^_^”)

– Each place I danced had some significance: Location 1 (by the oak) was around the spot where I filmed my dance cover of “Iku ZYX! FLY HIGH” (the first single Momo participated in); Location 2 (by the birches) is where I filmed my dance cover of “Tamerai Summer Time” (just from a different angle); and Location 3 is, of course, where I filmed most of my video for “Kia Ora Gracias Arigato” (Momo’s solo song from their mini album partenza).

– I was originally going to film elsewhere for the first two locations: 1 would have been where I danced to “Crazy Kanzen na Otona” (which was also where I did my first split screen video: Berryz Koubou’s “Sprinter!”) and 2 would have been on that little slab of cement where I used to do a lot of outdoor dance covers. Unfortunately, there would have been a bunch of stuff in the background, so I changed my mind. XD orz

– As I said in the outfit blog post for this dance, I wanted pink for Momo and black to represent Buono!’s rock-ish edge~.

– The camera glitched a bit around 3:04 to 3:08. O__O I had already done so many takes, though, and it was so hot out that I just didn’t want to do any more. orz

– This was the first video in quite a while that I asked my mom to help me with~. (She panned up with the camera at the end.) ^__^

– I think I’ve mentioned this before, but Momo used to be my least favorite H!P member (I did one of those rankers/sorters and she was on the bottom), but, once I “got” her character and realized just how talented and professional she was, she quickly jumped up into my top rankings. (Her work in Buono! really helped, too~.) =D

I think that’s about it for this one. I had to get ready for work now, but if I remember any more trivia later, I’ll try to remember to add it. (^_^”)

Thanks for watching and reading~!
