Surimuchan [Now] #19 – May 2017

May 30, 2017

I’m actually rather excited about writing this instead of filming it~. XD

– For the first couple weeks of May, I listened to a lot of radio shows from the 30s and 40s because I couldn’t do much else at that time. orz
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – I enjoyed it. I’m not sure if I like more or less than (or about as much as) the first one, but it was definitely fun~. ^_^
– A handful of documentaries on Netflix (American Experience: Black Out; American Experience: War of the Worlds; Return to the USS Atlanta: Defender of Guadalcanal; Searching for Augusta: The Forgotten Angel of Bastogne; Tales of Irish Castles; and a few episodes from Ken Burns: The Civil War) – Interesting stuff!
Cool Runnings on Netflix – MY CHILDHOOOOOOD~~~! TT_TT =D ♥
Pokémon XYZ on Netflix – Am I the only one who gets extreme satisfaction when I get the “Who’s that Pokémon?” right? … I am? Okay… XD
– For music, I’ve been loving “Judas” by Fozzy, “Bibia Be Ye Ye” by Ed Sheeran, “Fantasia” by Tegomass.

– An Undertaker T-shirt – It’s going to have to be my last wrestling T-shirt for a while. (^_^”)
°C-ute’s Complete Single Collection [Limited B] – All of the music videos~~! =D
Country Girls Music Video Clips Vol. 1 – YESSS! Dance shots for “Boogie Woogie LOVE” and “Koi wa Magnet”~!!! (Wish I would have known they were going to include these before I did “Ran Ra Run” ahahaha… orz)
– Miscellaneous stuff on – The Stationery section of that site always ends up eating all of my money. XD

– At the end of April, I got that same eye infection that I had last year (though it was in my left eye this time). That meant a few weeks worth of eye drops and blurry vision (due to the dilating eye drops). That’s why I was listening to so many radio shows. (^_^”)
– I had that stubborn tooth extracted on May 1st. Apparently, I held a full conversation, made an appointment, and posted a picture to Instagram (with necessary hashtags) without being fully awake… or aware at all, actually. XD The first thing I remember is resting my head on the back of the car seat while my brother picked up my medicine. XD My brother also told me that, when I was told I could sit up whenever I felt able, I immediately sat up like the Undertaker. He said something like, “Whoa, you looked like the Undertaker,” and I guess I said, “That’s what I was going for,” with a thumbs up. XD I don’t remember ANY of it.
– After the extraction site was healed over pretty well, the stitches started to come loose, but nothing fell out completely. It felt like a spider was nesting in the socket that was left after the extraction. O_O I finally had a piece of one of the stitches fall out last night. I put it on a piece of tape with a couple of the little bone chips that also fell out and made a smiley face. XDD orz

– If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that June is my gaming month~! Specifically… Castlevania: Symphony of the Night~~! This will be my eighth year in a row to play that game in June. =D
– If you’ve been keeping up with recent posts then you already know about these, but I’ll be uploading some °C-ute MINI Clips and a redo/Take 2 dance cover (plus the comparison video) in June before °C-ute disbands. I’m also working on something with a song that heavily features Tsugunaga Momoko since she’ll be graduating. orz

Oreo Chocolate Candy Bars~!! I posted a picture on my Instagram a while back. I’m totally addicted to them. I bought two of the big bars and two of the King Size two packs on Sunday, and I finished all of them by Tuesday morning. XD

Let me know your answers in the comments~!! ^__^

Thanks for reading~!

~Update 60~

May 3, 2017

Here are some updates! First of all, my surgery was successful. Apparently, I was able to hold a full conversation, make another appointment, and post a picture to Instagram (with relevant hashtags) without actually being fully awake or aware. XD I honestly don’t remember any of that. The first thing I remember after the surgery was resting my head against the back of the car seat. XD

As I mentioned briefly in a previous post, the eye infection I had last year has returned, but it’s in my other eye. I’m using special eye drops for it right now, and I have another appointment on Friday to check on it. Because of this eye problem, I’ll probably be pretty slow to reply back to comments (AAARRGGGHHHH!). orz

As far as what videos I’ll be uploading soon, here’s a few of them:

5/4 – Vlog Bloopers #5
5/7 – SurimuChats #15 – Funny Quotes from My Mom
5/13 – Iroppoi Jirettai (Dance Cover)

Note: The “Funny Quotes from My Mom” is technically a SurimuChat even though I didn’t use the usual “It’s time for another SurimuChat!” opening.

So, that’s what you have to look forward to for now~! Also, the surprise that I mentioned in the last update post had to be pushed back a bit. Sorry about that! m(_ _)m Okay, I had better rest my eyes…

That’s all for this update~!

Surimuchan [Now] #18 | Endings and Beginnings

April 29, 2017

Something else happened this month (of course it would happen a few days after I finished filming this video); remember that eye infection I had last spring? Well, I got the same thing again in the other eye. If it continues to happen, I’ll need to have blood work done to see if I have an autoimmune disorder. … So that was a thing. orz

Anyway, thanks for watching and reading! Be sure to check this blog at the end of each month for further Surimuchan [Now] stuff~! ^__^

New Plans / Upcoming Changes

April 6, 2017

You may or may not have noticed that I’ve been looking into changing things up for a while now. I had multiple polls on Twitter and I’ve mentioned a few things on my blog.

When I first started this channel, I never planned for it to have anything other than dance covers. Heck, I didn’t plan for it to have anything other than Hello! Project dance covers. But of course that changed when I started doing Vocaloid dances; that changed when I started making tutorials; that changed when YouTube Red hit and I decided to make vlogs so my viewers in the US would still have something to watch. Another change was my use of social media. I used to just post dance cover trivia and random posts on my blog, but then I got a Facebook page, and Twitter, and Instagram, and a Wiki page, though that one wasn’t made by me. So now I have all sorts of different videos that I make and, like I’ve been saying for a while, you can find me in a whole bunch of other places besides YouTube.

At this time, however, I’d like to scale back on what I’m doing. The thing I’ll be scaling back on the most is vlogging and other videos in which I talk a lot, and that’s for a few reasons.

1) Coming up with content – I don’t really do anything or go anywhere, so I don’t have much to talk about (I do still have some ideas saved up, though).
2) Messing up a lot – I trip over my words a LOT and sometimes I’ll completely forget what I was talking about.
3) Tons of ambient noise – The furnace, water going through the pipes, others walking around or talking, the dog barking, dishes rattling, the washing machine…
4) Perfectionism – I will sometimes not use a perfectly good take because I have literally one hair out of place. I’ll just film again and again and again… orz
5) Lots of filming and editing for very few views – Surimuchan [Now] #16 has been up for over a month and only has 87 views; Surimuchan [Now] #17 took me 55 takes to complete. O_O
6) Lack of motivation to film because of all of the previous problems

Just to quickly go over the types of videos I have:
Dance covers and MINI Clips – These will be my main focus.
SurimuChats – These will remain, but they’ll be about as frequent as they are now (which is not very frequent).
Surimuchan [Now] – The last one will be up at the end of this month. The questions/categories will then be answered in monthly blog posts.
H!P Vlogs – I have a few more topics that I’d like to dicuss in videos, but then I’ll go back to just posting this kind of stuff on my H!P blog.
Matching Costume – I can still explain the outfits in blog posts, but I will no longer be making videos for them.
Dance Challenges – These will continue.
MINI Tutorials – These will continue, but will be few and far between because they take a lot of time and effort. Even though they’re shorter than full tutorials, I still need to write out the tutorial, record the audio, film the steps, and then edit everything together.

Another thing to be aware of: this is the 78th week in a row that I’ve posted at least one video. I will no longer be forcing myself to upload something every week. Instead, I have very specific days on which I’d like to upload videos. They could be just a couple days apart, or they could be over a week apart. Whatever the case, I’ll be focusing on those days from now on.

As far as Surimuchan on social media, here’s what I’d like to try for a little while:

– Instead of updating my Facebook and Twitter pages with every video, I will instead post all of my videos on my blog, and then link to all of the posts for each month in one post at the end of the month, and then I’ll share that on Facebook and Twitter. (I won’t start doing this until May.)
– I’ll update my Wiki page at the end of each month.
– Instagram will continue to be updated regularly.

I started my YouTube channel to have fun (and bring some attention to H!P music), but now I seem to be constantly trying to outdo myself or even just keep up with myself and my goals. For the past year and a half or so, I’ve been keeping very close track of the number of views, subscribers, likes, follows, etc. I have. I would actually do the math to figure out how much I needed each day/week/month to make my goal by the end of the year. I turned into a number chaser, which is exactly what I never wanted to be. I never wanted to be saying, “I want to make it to this!” instead of “I want to make this!”

So, like I said, I’d like to go back to how it used to be (in a way), by focusing on H!P dance covers and my blog. I’m not giving up the other stuff completely (at least, not right now), so don’t worry about that. I’d just like to try to get back that happiness that I felt in my first year of dancing. I’m sorry if you don’t like some of the changes, but this is something that I felt I needed to try for a bit.

I hope you understand! Thank you for watching and reading~!

~ Stephanie

~Update 56~

January 25, 2017

What’s this?! An ~Update~ post?! The last time I made one of these was… over three-and-a-half years ago! O__O So, what the occasion? … Nothing really. XD

That poll that I posted the other day had the results I expected (even though the turnout was pretty abysmal orz); it seems most people know about my new videos through YouTube (subscription notifications, I’m guessing?) as opposed to it being shared on Facebook, Twitter, or anywhere else. However, there were still votes for Facebook and Twitter, so it looks like my original plan (to stop using the two altogether) wouldn’t be the best idea. (^_^”)> I was a little sad to see that no one mentioned Instagram or this blog, because those were the two things that I was always going to keep. XD

Anyway, you may have noticed that I made a few updates to the Surimu☆Channel blog. On the side bar, you can now search my blog for specific words (try typing in “cheese balls” or “botan” or “chipmunk”… can you believe they all have results on this blog? XD). I’ve also added my Twitter feed on the sidebar (though I usually only post links to my videos on Twitter… (^_^”)), and (I’m rather excited about this one) I changed the Archives to a drop-down menu~! SO much better~.

Well, since you have been kind enough to visit my blog (which holds a special place in my heart, because I had it long before my Facebook page or Twitter or Instagram or a Wiki page and before I was doing tutorials or vlogs… where was I? XD), I’ll let you in on a little something or two… I’ve already mentioned a couple of times that this blog is the first place that I post my dances after they’re uploaded (even before I officially make them public), but I’m also planning to make it the first place to find out what videos/dances are coming up next. =D That being said, here’s what you have to look forward to in the next few weeks:

– January 30th – Surimuchan [Now] #15
– February 1st – Mukidashi de Mukiatte (Dance Cover)
– February 14th – Ran Ra Run ~Anata ni Muchuu~ (Dance Cover)

A few things to note: I’ll only mention upcoming dances that are already done being filmed. I just finished filming “Mukidashi de Mukiatte” a little over an hour ago, and I filmed “Ran Ra Run” super-early in the morning this past Sunday (the new header on this blog already shows the outfit and background for that one~). I’ll get full outfit preview pictures up on here for both dances before I put them up on Facebook.

I also plan to have something uploaded between the two dance covers, though I’m not sure what yet. I could do another Terrible Auto-Caption video or a Vlog Blooper video… maybe I’ll get another MINI Tutorial done by then… who knows? I may also eventually put the entire Agent 36 series into one video (just the “drama” parts); I’m debating as to whether or not I should do a commentary or just do a trivia post like usual… *shrug*

So! How’s that for an update? =D Thanks for reading~!

The Return of Some Old Features!

April 21, 2016

Back in December of 2011, I had decided to remove the downloadable files from the page on my blog titled “スリムちゃんの宝の箱” (“Surimu-chan’s Box of Treasures”). I’m happy to announce that the page will be used again, though it’s going to be a little different this time around~.

The first change is the name of the page; as much as I love it, I figured it might be mostly ignored because it’s a bit vague (and in Japanese). That’s why I decided to change it to “♦ Treasure Box ♦ – Bonuses.” I really love the whole “Treasure Box” idea (I even put diamonds around it~), so I kept that, but I added “Bonuses” to make the page’s content a little more clear.

Anyway, because I’ve discontinued my Patreon page, I decided to divide up the extra content from there onto my blog and Facebook page. Here’s the breakdown:

Blog (♦ Treasure Box ♦ – Bonuses)
Outfit Picture Collections [.zip file download]
SurimuChatters Podcasts [.mp3 file download]
SurimuChat Supplements [YouTube link]
Agent 36 – Extra Takes [YouTube link]
Miscellaneous Videos [YouTube link]

Bloopers (Dance covers, vlogs, etc.)
Behind the Scenes
1 Minute Vlogs
Comparison Clips
スリム★ミニ CLIPS with Spoken Intro (maybe?)

スリム★ミニ CLIPS
(Along with the usual dance covers, vlogs, challenges, etc.)

You may have noticed the return of the minute-long vlogs and スリム★ミニ CLIPS! … Okay, so I didn’t really do anything with the Surimu★Mini CLIPS in the first place, so it’s not exactly a return, but… XD The minute-long vlogs have also been renamed from “楽しい分” (“Fun Minute”) to “見て!→[ONE Minute]” (“Look! -> [ONE Minute]”) (you may have noticed my love for Tsunku-like titles with random punctuation and capitalization XD). I had three minute vlogs on Patreon, so those are ready to be uploaded to Facebook whenever. As for the mini clips, I had one done, but I lost it when my old laptop stopped working, so I’ll have to film it again. orz I decided to put the mini clips on YouTube because I’ll need something quick to upload between vlogs and dance covers. (^_^”)

The spoken intro for the Facebook mini clips will just be me talking about the significance of the song/dance and/or maybe a little trivia. Comparison clips will be showing (obviously) comparisons between either my video and the video I learned from or two different takes of mine for the same dance. They won’t be the full dance; just a small piece of it.

Miscellaneous videos for my blog would be like that video of me playing around on the ice; any sort of random video that doesn’t really have anything to do with anything (but I still wanted to make) will be uploaded to my bonus channel and linked on here~.

Outfit pictures for my dance covers have been cleaned up in Photoshop (i.e. resized, brightened, and the window and outlets have been removed). They will be organized by month, so January 2016, for example, will have pictures for “CHANGE!!!!,” “Yuujou ~Kokoro no Busu ni wa Naranee!~ [Outfit Video],” and “Dandan Hayaku Naru.”

Even though I had done eight SurimuChatters podcasts for Patreon, I’ve decided to start the count over, so the first podcast I’ll have up for download will be marked as SurimuChatters #1 (though it won’t be the original SurimuChatters #1). You may also be wondering what I could possibly talk about in a podcast; the answer is… whatever. XD Seriously. I talk about stuff like what videos I’m working on, what games I’m playing, what songs I’ve been listening to, what else I’ve been doing in my daily life. Literally whatever. XD I don’t have a set time range for these, but I think the other ones ended up being ten to fifteen minutes long.

So, that’s what’s on its way~! I hope everyone will enjoy all of the extra stuff! =D

Surimu Day~!

March 6, 2016

Remember when I used this as a regular blog instead of it being just for dance cover trivia? … Most people don’t. XD Back in 2010/2011, I would post things that had nothing to do with my dances: pictures of leaves and wildlife; what we were having for dinner or something I had baked; games that I was playing or shows that I had been watching. Now, a lot of those kind of posts go on Twitter or Instagram. I would also post updates on what I was working on, give sneak peeks for upcoming videos, and share links for download-only video clips (Surimuchan’s Treasure Box!)~. Now, those posts are on Facebook and Patreon. I can only think of two or three people who were following me when all of my updates, posts, and downloads were on this blog who are still following me now. It’s rather bittersweet~. If I were to look at this from a professional standpoint, I suppose I’m happy that I expanded into a bunch of other sites to gain more exposure, but I often miss the sort of “clubhouse” feeling that this blog used to have. Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate all of the views/comments/likes/subscribers/followers/fans I’ve gotten throughout the years; I’m happy that my clubhouse has gained more members~. XD

Anyway, as the post title says, I’ve decided today is “Surimu Day.” XD If you follow my “Agent 36” video series, you’ll remember that 3-6 can be pronounced Surii-Mu (Surii = Japanese pronunciation of English word “three”; Mu = another pronunciation for “6” in Japanese). So, March 6th = Surimu Day~. It also happens to be Tsugunaga Momoko‘s birthday, and she’s one of my favorite H!P members (which is funny because, back when I first found H!P, she was my absolute least favorite; it’s because I didn’t understand her character XD)~.

I didn’t really do anything special for today. I actually slept a lot. XD However, I did manage to post something on all of the various sites I use: YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Patreon, Etsy, my H!P blog, and this blog. It’s not much, but it’s the best I could come up with on such short notice (I only thought of “Surimu Day” a few days ago. orz)

A month from today will be the sixth anniversary for this blog. Ah~, I can’t believe it’s been so long. I remember when I was posting a few tidbits of trivia for my earliest dances on my H!P blog! Time flies~.

Well… I guess that’s about all I wanted to say. Thank you to everyone who keeps up with me in any way on any of my pages; I really appreciate your support! ♥

~2015 Wrap-Up Post~

December 31, 2015

It’s time for my year-end post~! I got a few more done this year than last year; I was happy about that! Here’s a quick breakdown:

– I did a total of twenty-three dances this year.
Three of these dances were original choreographies.
Four of these dances were non-Hello! Project dances, two of which were my most popular uploads for this year.
Nine of these dances were done in the last four months of the year (after I had quit my job).
Five of these dances were Berryz Koubou covers, four of which were done in the first three months of the year due to their indefinite hiatus.
– Not counting original choreography, for dance covers with other H!P group songs, I had the following – Morning Musume (including ’14) = 4; °C-ute = 2; S/mileage/ANGERME = 1; Juice=Juice = 2; Country Girls = 1; misc. H!P (High-King) = 1.
Two of these dances were part of my “Agent 36” series.

So that’s how that worked out. =D Now I’d like to give a few comments for each video~.

Nijiiro Miracle
– I actually really enjoyed something about this one, though I’m not 100% what it is. Maybe the fact that this was the last video I did before I got braces? orz This is one of those dance covers that makes me miss my long hair because it was totally cooperating for this video. XD (Too bad most of my iDOLM@STER videos are still unavailable in the US. (-_-*))

Dschinghis Khan
– This was learned for the only collaboration I did this year, so that makes it special in one way, and it was also the first dance I did after I got braces. I remember not lip-syncing most of the song because I was having such a hard time getting used to the feel of the braces. orz XD Actually, this was also the first outfit that I took multiple pictures of after the video, but I never did post them because I was still reluctant to show off my braces. (^__^”)

Heroine ni Narou ka!
– I actually reeeaallly like the outfit for this one along with the weird, crimped sort of style of my hair (that’s called the “putting your wet hair in a braid and not taking it out for two days” hairstyle XD). This was the first dance voted for in the Berryz Dance Cover polls that I did in late 2014, so it reminds me of that, too, because I’ve always loved seeing the results for polls on this blog, though I don’t usually get many votes. XD (Also, I know I still have one more dance cover left from those polls… but it ended up being part of a project, which is why I’ve held off on doing it. ^_~)

Ooki na Ai de Motenashite
– Well, there’s a hairstyle I’ll probably never attempt again. XD I actually thought the overall video looked cute (no pun intended), but I was really worried about how it would be received, because I’m obviously no Sayu or Momo or… anyone else who worked the mega-cutesy angle. orz XD

Towa no Uta
– AAARRRGH, the feels! TT_TT I did so much work on this one! I mean, I actually filmed everything in front of a green screen first, and then re-filmed everything when the green screen clips didn’t work out… and I didn’t even go into despair-mode like usual! XD Even more than my original choreographies or my most popular dance covers this year, I think this was my most ambitious video of 2015. I learned some of the dance backwards so that I could flip it and make the room look bigger! I did the entire dance for ALL SEVEN parts! The more I talk, the more egotistical it sounds… but I am honestly so proud of what I achieved with this video! If only I could have fixed the quality on some of the editing, it would have been almost perfect, but I still feel like putting this dance cover on my “Crowning Achievements” list. ♥

Shining Power
– I was surprised by how good a fully red outfit could look. XD This was always one of those dances where I was like, “Yeah, I’ll do that one… eventually.” I’m not sure when I would have actually gotten to it if it hadn’t been voted for. XD That being said, I actually really liked how it turned out! ^__^

Okochama Sensou
– Here’s one of the big ones! I think this has been my most popular dance cover since…  “What is LOVE?” maybe? It’s already overtaken “Spring Shower,” “galaxias!,” and “Hello/How Are You” in terms of views! =O I had a lot of fun tweaking this one and acting out the sibling rivalry in the dance, so I’m happy it’s doing so well~. ^__^

Renai WARS
– This has to be my favorite of my original choreographies this year~. I always love interaction being worked into dances, and this song was perfect for that, so I had a lot of fun fighting with/teasing myself in this dance. XD Also, you know, the fact that the songwriter tweeted my video (and retweeted my tweet linking to the video!) only helped its case. =D

10 Carat no Kirameki
– I couldn’t believe that this had never been performed live, but it worked out better for me, so I’m not complaining. XD I might actually go out on a limb here and say that this was my favorite outfit from this year, and, if not my #1 favorite, definitely top five. There are some points in the dance that I wish I could improve, but there were other points that actually really liked, so it all balances out~. =)

Black Butterfly
– The dance itself has a good balance of flowiness and snappiness, so that was a fun combination to attempt. This is one of those dance covers that I don’t know if I’d really be like, “I want to watch this one right now!,” but, if it happened to be on, I wouldn’t mind watching it. XD I kind of liked how this outfit turned out~.

Toki wo Koe Sora wo Koe
– I had wanted to do this one since it came out, but I had the same sort of feeling about this as I did with songs like “Nanchatte Renai” and “Sakura Mankai,” which is, “If I do badly on this video, I don’t know if I can forgive myself for ruining such a wonderful song.” XD Though it definitely wasn’t one of my stronger dance covers this year, at least I don’t feel like I ruined it. XD This was also the first dance cover I did after having my two baby teeth removed, so I remember trying really hard not to smile because I was embarrassed. (^__^”)

Chotto Ikashita PURE BOY
– The song itself has a lot of special memories associated with it (I even named my H!P blog after it~), but the dance hasn’t quite reached that level of sentiment yet. XD Although this video was rather complicated in terms of editing, the dance itself was rather simple, which was intentional, but also a bit disappointing. orz I feel like it wouldn’t look too bad with an actual group of eight people, but one person spaced out kind of sterilized the fun feeling a bit, in my opinion. =/

Shouganai Yume Oibito
– I finally got another one done from my “Surimuchan’s H!P Medley Challenge” list of videos! XDD This was another song that I didn’t want to wreck with a bad video. Again, I felt it wasn’t my best, but I don’t hate it. And I didn’t ruin the song for myself. XD I suppose this was a good dance to do for my last dance cover with super-long hair at least.

– I had this one planned for so long! =D I will admit to snickering quite a few times with this dance, not only while learning the dance and knowing what it was going to be used for, but also while reading the comments after I uploaded the video. The reactions… XD I thought this was a cute outfit, too. It’s something that I wish I had the confidence to wear outside of the house. XD You know, I don’t think I’ve ever worn any of my skirts outside of my dances. It’s kind of a shame…

The Middle Management ~Josei Chuukan Kanrishoku~
– I love the technicality of °C-ute’s dances, which is why it’s so disappointing that they have so many dances with moves that I’m not comfortable with. TT_TT I find it funny that this was the first dance cover I did after quitting my job; some of the work-related gripes that are in the lyrics may or may not have applied to me… XD

Romance no Tochuu
– The scavenger hunt video~! =D This was a song that I was on the fence about dancing to for the longest time because of some of the weird movements, but I got over it and really enjoyed doing the dance. ^__^ Still a little sad that I couldn’t do a three-person dance break due to lack of room, but that’s neither here nor there, I guess.

– Soooo happy to finally be able to do this one! Memoriiies~! XD I was still in school the year it came out, but, because it came out in the summer, I had a chance to watch the video and listen to the song a billion times… and learn just the arm movements during the chorus. XD I remember really loving the “rolling version” of the music video. As far as my dance cover, I really liked the outfit and was quite proud of how close I got it to the original. The dance itself made me feel so cool. =)

– I started watching this video to see if there was anything I wanted to mention for this one, but I ended up getting distracted and only watching the video; it’s already half over as I’m typing this! XD This song and dance is just so happy~! I will forever be in love with てぃ☆イン!’s choreographies~. As for my video, I really loved this outfit and was happy with the background and my dancing, so I’d say that’s a win! =D

Happy Halloween
– Heeere’s the other big one! I honestly have to wonder how popular this one would have been without all of the Ib references… but that doesn’t matter now! =D I love the headless mannequin. XD I was happy that it worked out as well as it did. This video was just all-over fun from the costumes, sets, and props, to hyping it on my Facebook page for the preceding week, to the dance itself. Good times!

– I actually thought this one turned out pretty cute, which is why I’m kind of sad that I uploaded it while H!P videos were still blocked in the US. I think it definitely hurt the stats for the video. =( I wanted everyone to see and love Old Lady Surimuchan! TT_TT … XD Okay, maybe not, but I still liked this dance cover~.

– Awww yeah, Agent 36 begins! =D Two things immediately came to mind with this dance cover: 1) how long it took me to learn the fast movements in the first twenty seconds of the dance and 2) the disappointment I felt after I realized that I wouldn’t be able to do it in my taller black boots because it hurt too much to jump in them. Oh wait, 3) how UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED I was when H!P videos were made available again~! (*^__^*) I was going to wait until I had all of the Agent 36 stuff filmed (like, EVERYTHING) to start uploading them, but I was so excited that day that I decided that I didn’t care about it being on a regular release schedule; I had a dance ready and I wanted it up to celebrate~!!

– I didn’t realize just how weird the Agent 36 tie-ins would look until I did this dance cover. XD I have so many good memories with this song (along with the other “classic” MM songs), so it was great to do the dance for this even though it didn’t have a dance shot~. Not to mention the fact that I got to wear a costume that was a tad bit silly for it. XD

– It didn’t hit me until just now that the first and last H!P dance covers I did this year were for Berryz songs. O_O I actually have the giant, $160, first press limited edition version of their last concert (a hugely surprising gift from a friend), but I haven’t watched it all the way through because I’m still in denial about their hiatus (or, let’s face it… graduation orz). XD Anyway, I was pleased with this dance cover: dancing, outfit, surprise ending, and all~. ^__^

I didn’t really choose any favorites, because there was something I liked about all of them~. How about you guys?

► Is there any dance cover that you particularly liked this year? Top five? Can you put them in order from least to most favorite? ◄

As always, thank you all so, so, SO much for your support for the past year~! I couldn’t do it without you~! I dealt with so many different things this year: getting braces, having surgery, putting on a scavenger hunt~, leaving my job, realizing the extent of my anxiety, making the decision to bring tutorials back, challenging myself to post on YouTube every week, losing H!P then getting it back… Lots of stuff~, and you were watching my videos the entire time~. Thank God for that, and thank God for you! Your support honestly means a lot to me. ♥ Aaaand now I’m crying. XD

Going into 2016, I’m a lot like I was when I started my YouTube channel: no real direction with my real life, an almost empty bank account, and no clue how things will turn out… but I’m going to look at it as a fresh start. I’m going on an adventure~! It would mean a lot to me if you came along~! ♥

Thank you, and have a Happy New Year~!
