桜チラリ (MINI Clip) Trivia

March 19, 2018

– This was filmed on February 16th.

– This is one of those dances that’s so simple that it’s easy to make it look bad. O_O I actually had to be very mindful of how to move my arms/bend my elbows and how big my steps should be.

– The boots might not fit the outfit, but anything else I tried didn’t allow me to turn as easily. (^_^”)

– I tried to be careful about making the outfit look different from the one I had in “Ooki na Ai de Motenashite,” because that also used pink, white, and little pink and white flowers.

– My favorite part might be the fast, tiny steps that I take just before the first verse. ^__^

– I had debated as to whether or not I should do a full dance cover for this one… but there’s really not much to the dance, so I felt I couldn’t really justify it with so many others left to do. orz

I think that’s it for this one~. Thank you for watching and reading! =D

低温火傷 (Dance Cover) Trivia

March 11, 2018

– This was filmed on March 5th.

– It only took me about a day to learn this dance~. It helped that I loved the song and had a clear dance shot to learn from~. ^__^

– The gloves I’m wearing are the same ones I wore for my “Isogaba Maware” dance cover last year… but I painted the backs dark grey. (I tried coloring them with permanent markers first, but that didn’t work. XD)

– I was in and out (but mostly out) of the cold for close to two hours from the start of the filming process to the end of the “photoshoot” that I always do for my outfits. O__O

– Because I was wearing an almost sleeveless dress, I decided to add a few things to be a bit warmer: two pairs of shorts under the dress, tall boots instead of short ones, and two pairs of knee-high socks (folded down a bit so that you couldn’t see them above my boots). The hat, capelet (just a scarf pinned to look like a capelet), and gloves were just to match the original outfit a little more. The belt was there just because I thought it looked good with the outfit. =)

– My dress is actually dark grey, though it kind of looks dark brown in the video.

– There were a few points during the dance where the wind almost completely cut the music out, so I had to just keep dancing and pray that I was in time with the music. XD

– There were also multiple times when the wind started blowing directly in my face (usually bringing a bunch of snow with it). One such time is at around 2:04, which happens to be one of my favorite parts of this video because it’s such a neat effect~.=D

– I did many takes, but I only got through the entire dance three times. The first take was the clearest because the wind wasn’t blowing as hard, but I felt like I was a bit too far away from the camera, and I wanted to do a couple of the moves a little better. The second take was closer, but a giant snowflake hit the lens early on and obscured the left half of the screen (and there were still a couple of moves that I thought I could improve on). The third full take was the one I used~.

– For the first two full takes, I was dancing a little further back, but I eventually had to move up because that spot had become so slippery. O_O

– I actually straightened my hair for this, but all of the snow that accumulated in my hair tangled it into waves. (^_^”)

– I have at least a couple of bloopers where I had to stop because I got a face full of snow from the wind. XD

– I was going to say that my favorite part of the song is from 0:29 to 0:43 (for some reason, I love how Kiki sings “shiroi”), but I also love the chorus, so I was going to say 0:29 to 1:13… but then I realized I just love the whole song. XD

– I had to laugh at the fact that the wind started to pick up just before they mention snowboarding in the song. XD

– This has quickly become one of my favorite dance covers that I’ve done just because I like to watch the wind blow the snow (and that branch in the lower left XD) around. I did an okay job on the dance, but that production value with the setting! XDD

– I wasn’t actually terribly cold while filming this; the cold was hardest on my hands. The move at the beginning of the chorus was a bit difficult to do because my fingers were so cold (which you wouldn’t think would be the case since it’s just flipping your hand back and forth). orz

– Yes, I did actually kneel in the snow for those two parts. O_O XD orz

That’s all for this one~! Thanks for watching and reading! ^__^

ガキ大将 (MINI Clip) Trivia

March 8, 2018

– This was filmed on February 8th.

– When I decided to start making MINI Clips, this was one of the first dances on my To Do list. Even before that, I had been planning on doing this dance for years because I’ve always loved the song~.

– This had only been performed, what, twice? And the first performance was the only one with the full, more involved dance routine, so I didn’t have much to work with when learning this dance. orz Thankfully, I was able to find a solo shot version of Miyabi for that performance, and that helped with a few moves that couldn’t be seen in the regular performance~.

– I used a slightly schoolgirl-ish look for the outfit and included a wood panel border as a (rather vague, I suppose) reference to their mention of a blackboard in the song.

– That skirt was only worn in one other dance cover (I think): Koi no Vacance (from 2010!).

– The part that took me the longest to do properly was from 0:45 to 0:49; it has a very specific pattern that needs to be done in time with the music, so it took me a few tries to get it right. (^_^”)

– I’m not sure if I’ve worn that vest in anything else besides “Only you”… but I could be wrong.

That’s all for this one~! Thank you for watching and reading~! ^__^

March 7, 2018

– This was filmed on February 17th.

– I always liked this song, but I always hated the dance shot version because they cut to closeups so often. (I’m also not a huuuge fan of the “stand here and pose, now walk over here and pose” parts of dances… and this had a few…) orz

– Because the dance shot had so many closeups, I had to watch various live performances to see all of the dance. Even then, I had to find older performances of the song because they didn’t seem to dance much for later ones.

– I started out wearing the red skirt that I had in my “Renai WARS” video, but decided that outfit looked a little too much like the iconic “Morning Coffee” one, so I changed skirts. My next option was the purple one from “Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru,” which I really liked, but it seemed rather short, so I switched to the floral one (briefly seen in my “Wakatteiru no ni Gomen ne” dance cover). I liked the final outfit~.

– I always loved the settings in the original music video, and I wanted to at least reference that look with the columns and bushes (drawn super-quickly in Paint… XD). I also tried to fade the video a bit for that slightly old-timey look~.

– This dance took me just a couple of days to learn (and it was only that long because I had to hunt for clips to see certain parts). (^_^”)

– As I said in the video description, today is the eleven-year anniversary of this song’s release~! =D

I think that might actually be it for this one. Thanks for watching and reading~! ^__^

ピラッ! 乙女の願い (Dance Cover) Trivia

March 6, 2018

– This was filmed on February 8th.

– I tried to match the outfits from the performance with Nakky and Erina instead of the performance with all three of them because I thought the 80’s-ish look was kind of fun~. =D

– Brightly-colored fabric chains return~! XD It’s kind of hard to tell, but the one on my hip on the blue/pink side is a fluorescent green. Also, the one on my hip on the other side is made of the same fabric that was used for my “CAT’S EYE” dance cover.

– This is one of the few dances that I can remember not getting super-mad at if I messed up because I love the song so much~.

– I was going to do this as a solo dance, but I liked the face smack move after the dance break so much that I wanted to use it in the dance and include the other side’s reaction. XD

– I love lip-syncing/singing along with the “PARAPIRAPORAPORAPPO” etc. parts~. ^__^

– I pretty much just had the two performances available to use to learn this dance… but I think it turned out okay~.

– I was rather proud of the fact that I was able to “fall” at the same speed just before the first verse, and, for the second verse, my timing made it look like the purple/green side was pushing the other side forward a bit (just before the “WHOA AH OH” parts). XD

– As I mentioned in the video description, I made this for “Surimu Day” (3/6 from my Agent 36/Surimu series) because I’ve always really loved this song, and those are the kind of dances I want to upload on Surimu Day. XD

That’s all for this one~. Thanks very much for watching and reading! ^__^

ふんわり恋人一年生 (Dance Cover) Trivia

February 16, 2018

– This was filmed on January 19th.

– I rather liked these outfits even though they were somewhat plain (compared to other outfits I’ve worn for dances). ^_^

– The steps in the beginning of the dance were one of the things that made me really want to dance to this. XD

– This song was only performed a few times (and always a shorter version), so it took me forever to figure out what they were doing for some parts (like during the raps).

– I was actually doing the move around 1:37 (stepping back while swinging arms out) wrong for a while; I would jump back on one foot and swing my arms in instead. (^_^”)

– The “part two” line at the beginning of the second verse was one of the reasons I wanted to do the full dance. XD I also kind of liked the move I added at 2:10-2:11~. =D

– My hat says “WEIRD.” XD

– I was originally going to wear my Hardy Boyz tank top for the rap side, but I decided to go with a plain white tank top instead.

– The sleeves I’m wearing have kiwis on them. =)

– I used my newer video editing software to split screen this, which has a nice soft split line so that it’s not so obvious… but it seems to slow the video down a little at random points, so I don’t know. O_O My mom said it’s not noticeable, but I always notice eeeeeverything. XD orz

That’s all~! Thank you for watching and reading! ^__^

ピーナッツバタージェリーラブ (Dance Cover) Trivia

February 14, 2018

– This was filmed on January 24th.

– I went through multiple changes to get my “peanut butter and jelly” outfit. I considered the burnt orange shirt that I wore in my dance cover of “Morning Misoshiru;” I thought about turning the tan scarf–also from “Morning Misoshiru”–into a top (like I did for my “Sakura Mankai” outfit); I also toyed with the idea of wearing purple instead of red to represent the jelly (I’ve always preferred grape jelly for PB&J… strawberry jam is for toast XD). I really rather like the final outfit, though~.

– I believe I’ve only worn that top in one other dance: Hajimete no Keiken. =O

– I could be wrong, but I think that skirt has only been used for three other dances: Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~, Balalaika, and Rival.

– As I said, the outfit is supposed to look like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich: the gold-ish top is the peanut butter, the red tank top is the jelly, and the white/yellow skirt and brown belt and boots represent the bread. XD ^__^

– I’m wearing khaki shorts under my skirt (often seen when I spin XD), which I don’t think I’ve worn for a while (but I used to wear them quite a bit in older dances).

– This dance has (what I consider) one of the cutest lyrics in a Hello! Project song: Koishiteru to / Torokechau yo / Marude PIINATSU BATAA to / ICHIGO JAMU mitai (“When I fall in love / I feel as if I’m melting / Just like peanut butter and strawberry jam do”). This line is why I kept the red tank top to represent the jelly! XD =D

– I originally had my hair up for this one, but I decided I liked it better down (for the movement during spins and such…).

– I loved this song immediately and was going to dance to it sooner, but I thought it would be cute for Valentine’s Day (I actually feel like pretty much any Country Girls song would be good for a Valentine’s Day dance). ♥

– I just realized that I haven’t done a Country Girls dance since last Valentine’s Day. O_O

– I sat down awkwardly for the slow part, so getting up was a bit of a chore (and it’s super-obvious XD orz).

That’s all for this one~! Thank you for watching and reading~! Happy Valentine’s Day! ♥

ディスコ クイーン (MINI Clip) Trivia

January 26, 2018

– I filmed this on January 15th.

– I wanted to have a silver outfit for this because, you know… disco ball. XD I was excited when I realized that the silver skirt I had originally gotten for my second attempt at Mikan wasn’t going to go to waste. XD

– You can hardly see them, but I’m wearing large, silver hoop earrings in this video. I think I’ve only worn earrings for two, maybe three other dances. o_O

– I thought my outfit ended up looking a bit like the actual outfits for Morning Musume ’15’s “Oh my wish!” (^_^”)

– I was able to wear my heeled boots because all I had to do was step back and forth. XD

– This was originally going to be a split-screened video, but I thought it would be a waste of time (filming and editing) and space (on my camera and hard drive) because they do almost exactly the same movements (save the one just before the chorus where they face different directions). (^_^”)

– The hair ties around my wrists were going to be used for different hairstyles for the two parts, but, after I decided to make it a solo video, I also decided to leave my hair down to fly around. XD

– I learned this dance fairly quickly because it’s so simple, but I had to practice the hand twirl into arm twist kind of thing (1:22 to 1:25-ish) more.

– My “top” is a silver scarf wrapped around and pinned to a grey tank top. ^__^

– The first few seconds of this song remind me of Final Fantasy VII… at least one of the songs from the game… can’t remember which. XD

That’s all for this one! Thanks for watching and reading~! =)

スマイル美人 (MINI Clip) Trivia

January 10, 2018

– I filmed this on January 5th.

– As I said in the video description, I asked my followers on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook what color came to mind when they heard the opening for this song (0:07 to 0:20). I got twelve votes total, and blue and orange tied for first with three votes each.

– For the skirt, I just cut strips of blue and orange fabric and pinned and taped them to a plain black skirt.

– I think it’s been a while since I wore my hair up like that (probably because it’s sometimes kind of painful to take out XD orz).

– I would always do the move just before the chorus differently; I actually liked my version better, but I did the original one for the video. XD

– I had a good take for the side where I have my hair up… but then I noticed that I had messed up the timing for the very last move, so I had to redo the whole thing. orz

That’s all for this one~. Thanks for watching and reading! =D
