21世紀的恋愛事情 (MINI Clip) Trivia

September 21, 2016

– This is my first Mano Erina dance video since my original choreography for “10 Carat no Kirameki.” in May of last year and my first Mano Erina dance cover since January of 2013. O_O

– My outfit started out much different. I originally had the blue shirt rolled up (kind of like in “Utakata Saturday Night!”) with a short-sleeve, white button-up over it and the sleeves for both shirts rolled up. I didn’t care for how it looked, so I kept making changes until I found something that I preferred.

– Some of the “promo” pictures that I took for this video have been used as new profile pictures and headers on some of my sites.

– As I said in the video description, I didn’t lipsync this time around because opening my mouth certain ways is difficult and sometimes painful with the elastics I have on my braces right now. I did manage to fumble through the line “Do you wanna love me?
“nante romanchikku!”,” because I always thought it was kind of cute. XD

– You can totally see all the junk floating around in the air when I filmed this! There were leaves (I like leaves), bugs (not a huge fan, but I can deal with them), and pollen (NO. WHY.).

– This is the first time I’ve filmed in this location! If I were to flip the camera around, it would be very near where I filmed things like the outdoor part of my very first blooper video, the opening of “Genki+,” and dance covers like “BREEZE” and “Iku ZYX! FLY HIGH.”

– This dance took me one day to learn. XD I could have done the full dance, because it just repeats again, but I figured a bite-sized version would probably be better~.

– I was a bit worried that the lens flare that kept showing up would ruin the video, but it behaved for the most part. =)

– I had to do a lot of takes because I was never centered. orz

– If you look in the first panel of the window on the right side of the screen, you can see the reflection of one of our bird feeders. XD

– The shorts that I’m wearing always remind me of my dance cover of “Otakebi Boy WAO!,” which is, sadly, no longer available. orz

That’s all for this one! Thanks for watching and reading~. =D

10カラットの煌めき。 (Original Choreography) Trivia

May 8, 2015

– When I first heard this song (back when it came out), my first thought was “Simon and Garfunkel” just because of the “lai la lai” parts. XD Besides that, I loved the fact that Mano Erina had a(nother) song that wasn’t mellow or cutesy (though I like those, too!).

– I had originally wanted to do this dance outside (and I was even staying up until it got light out), but then I realized that I needed the “1, 2, 3” before the music (because the song starts right away), and I couldn’t bring my computer outside because the battery only lasts about four minutes (if I’m lucky) and there weren’t any outdoor outlets handy. orz

– My first attempt for the outfit included black pants, no buttons/pins, no necklace, and no purple belt. But you know me… always adding a billion accessories. XD Also, I felt like the version with pants looked an awful lot like the outfit for another H!P dance, but I couldn’t put my finger on which one it was. Probably something from °C-ute…

– The buttons I’m wearing are as follows: a Mano Erina picture, the name “Erina Mano,” and the old Hello! Project logo. They were a set that I got as a gift from a friend.

– The arm covers/wristlets/fingerless gloves/ whatever you want to call them are actually cut-up socks. XD The pattern on them is palm tree silhouettes in front of a sunset~.

– Though my hairstyle isn’t terribly complicated, I still needed about a dozen bobby pins to keep it in place… and even then it kept falling out because I was moving around so much. orz

– The arm spinning during the “lai lai lai” lines was, I believe, the first move I decided on. The manner in which I punched during those same lines changed many, many times until I finally settled on what you see in the video (and I’m still not sure if that one works so well orz).

– Multiple parts were changed right up until I actually filmed the dance. I didn’t even bother writing half of the changes (or even half of the dance) in my how-to file because I was pretty much able to remember what I wanted to do for each part.

– I’m sporting two small bruises in this video: one on my right arm, and one near my right kneecap. I have absolutely no idea what they’re from; all I know is that my makeup refused to cover them up so, whatever, I guess. XD

– I actually named the series of movements around 1:02 to 1:04 the “Kingpin,” because I had been watching Daredevil on Netflix around the same time that I was working on this choreography, so, for whatever reason, those movements always remind me of Wilson Fisk. … I know it makes absolutely no sense. XDD (I wonder if the relation will be as strong as SotN is with “Tokaikko Junjou”? XD)

– During the “naka ga/koi ga etc.” lines, I had originally tried writing out the kanji for “naka” (仲) and the katakana for koi (コイ) backwards in the air (so it would be correct for the camera), but I kept getting mixed up and it didn’t flow well, so I changed it to the palm/fist taps to the chest as seen in the final dance.

– This is probably my least favorite of my original dances so far, but that might have something to do with the fact that there’s no “interaction” in the dance.

– I totally dropped the ball on my outfit, because I didn’t wear some ridiculous, garish, fake diamond ring. XD

– I had to pin all of the belts down because they were such a menace while I was trying to dance. XD

– For whatever reason, I decided to paint my nails bright green earlier today, and I didn’t bother to clean it off for the dance cover so… yep. Bright green nails with my purple gloves. Yikes. XD

I think that might be it for this one… or probably not. I’m sure I still have more to say about the moves themselves, but I’m totally blanking on anything else, so I’ll leave it at this for now~. (^__^”)

Thank you for watching and reading!

~2013 Wrap-Up Post~

December 31, 2013

Here it is~! My year-end post! I only did twenty-two dances this year (not including tutorials, mirrored and/or slowed videos, and miscellaneous videos). Ah~… orz The following is just a few thoughts I had for each dance (listed in order of upload). I just wrote without really thinking, so it might be sort of… all over the place. XD

– I really love this song, and the dance is fun! Short dances always make me happy because… well, they’re short. I rather like the outfit for this one (except that the bow wouldn’t stay on straight and my shorts looked odd…). ^_^

2. Onegai Dakara…
– This is a fairly simple dance, but I love the song, so I’ve wanted to do this one for quite a while. Overall, I’m pleased with how this one turned out despite a few minor errors and some slight timing issues. The outfit was a little on the bland side. =/

3. Help me!!
– This was originally going to be an epic, split screened dance cover where I would have Riho’s part throughout while other parts would fade in and out (kind of like I did with my UP UP GIRLS dance covers except on a larger scale). That plan was abandoned when I realized I just didn’t have the time or energy to do it (which is sad because I had all of the outfits and split times/parts written out and ready). orz Anyway, this is a great dance, and I really love the song (it reminds me of Christmas, because I was learning the dance around Christmas time last year). The outfit wasn’t my favorite, but I didn’t have too many options… (^_^”)>

4. Suki yo, Junjou Hankouki.
– This wasn’t my most accurate, which is why I don’t really like watching it. That’s unfortunate, because this is probably one of my favorite outfits from this year’s dances. I really like this song and dance even though I messed up quite a bit… m(_ _)m

5. Be Genki <Naseba Naru!>
– I’m not sure if this one should really count for this year, because I actually filmed it last May (before I started working), but YouTube wouldn’t let me upload it until this year for whatever reason. (-_-“) The dance was super fun (yes, even the “directing traffic” arm movements during the chorus XD), and the song makes me really happy. And that outfit!! I have a cape~~!! I also really liked the bright primary colors combined with the mostly-black outfit.

6. Watashi no Mirai no Danna-sama
– This was another dance that I’ve wanted to do for quite a long time (I can’t believe I had already started dancing when this song came out! WHAAAAAT…). Again, it’s a fun dance (that’s usually a prerequisite for me), and I especially love the dance break, but I feel like it would have looked better if I had been more stable on my feet. =( I suppose the boots do kind of make the outfit, though. Speaking of which, I suppose this was a nice outfit, but it wasn’t one of my favorites. Besides the boots, the new location for this dance cover got a lot of attention.

7. Brainstorming
– I love the dance battle and dance break for this dance! I was really happy with how the editing turned out for those parts. =D However, I am not happy with how flaily I was for parts of this dance. orz I also kind of wish I could have found red and blue outfits instead of black and white, because it seems like I’m always wearing black and white… That being said, I rather liked the outfit I had for Riho’s part. ^_^ The split screened sections for this dance are always fun to see, but, much like “Help me!!,” they were supposed to be more complicated and numerous. Lack of time boiled it down to a few seconds for each member’s part. orz

8. Asian Celebration
– I may go ahead and say that this was one of my favorite dances to learn this year. =D It’s just a really fun dance and an upbeat song, so I had a blast doing it. ^__^ The “vampire” move is probably still my favorite. XD I was mostly pleased with the outfit, though I wish the zebra print fringe would have been more pronounced.

9. Crazy Kanzen na Otona
– I was really, reeeaaallly wary about this dance, because some of the moves are a little more mature than I would like, but my love for the song and the rest of the dance eventually outweighed my discomfort at those few moves. As for the outfit… I rather like it, except for the fact that the shorts don’t look as purple on screen as they do in real life. (-_-*) How about that new location? Those of you who have been following me for a long time may remember this as the area I filmed my very first split screen attempt (super-short dance cover of “Sprinter!” which was only up for download). I’d like to try filming there more… as long as I can avoid the bees. XD

10. Watashi ga Iu Mae ni Dakishimenakya ne
– Black and white again. XD There are a few hints of yellow, though, so I guess that helps a bit. I’m also wearing earrings, which is really rare for my videos. Overall, I was pleased with how this one turned out. I didn’t notice any super-glaring mistakes that will make me hate myself each time I hear the song (as is the problem with other dances I’ve done orz), so that’s a plus. The opening moves (not the immediate opening moves, but the ones just after those that are repeated later) are a lot of fun~.

11. Minimoni. Kazoe Uta ~Date Version~
– And here we have probably the best background of the year even though it was in my usual dancing spot. Whee~, a carnival! XD This was a cute one, but I always feel kind of silly watching it, because I can’t really pull off cute. XD

12. Onaji Jikyuu de Hataraku Tomodachi no Bijin Mama
– This was one of my favorite outfits from this year’s dances. I’m a bit disappointed that I wasn’t able to make a candy cane “microphone” for this, but at least I finally got this dance done! XD I’ve been meaning to do it ever since the song first came out. I rather like my energy for this one, and, of course, the tiny split-screened section.

13. LOVE Machine (Dance Collaboration)
– I always love watching collaborations I’ve done, because I think it’s so neat to watch someone who’s anywhere from hundreds to thousands of miles away dancing on screen with me. =D That being said, I’m very grateful to those who took part in this collaboration and very honored to have worked with them~. Thank you! ^_^ The dance itself, in my opinion, was fairly simple, so that left room for extra energy and, in some parts, creativity. As far as my outfits are concerned for this dance, they were all pretty generic, I guess. orz It was kind of fun to half-cosplay for that one part around 2:50 though. XD

14. Kimi Sae Ireba Nani mo Iranai
– I… kind of love how the opening turned out (and all of the split-screened parts, actually). XD This dance took me forever to finish because there’s not much going on, so any mistakes I made would have been really obvious. orz I rather like how the black and yellow looked together for this outfit, but it was, again, pretty generic. Also, the chorus of this song is still one of my favorite things to sing~.

15. Ai no Gundan
– I was afraid that this outfit would look too much like the one I wore for “Asian Celebration,” but I guess the hat, boots, and jacket (as well as the lack of zebra print) make it different enough… As for the dance, I love doing the dance break for this one, but I didn’t do it well. orz I don’t like watching this one much, because I had really wanted to split screen at least part of it, but I didn’t have the time or energy to do so. There are a few obvious mistakes in this, too. m(_ _)m

16. Uppercut!
– This daaaaance~! I think this one has to be another of my favorite dances that I learned this year~. The outfit is probably one of the most boring, but I had so much fun with the dance, that I hardly notice. XD This has what is probably one of my absolute favorite dance breaks. =D I was also happy with the in-and-out split screening in this one; I had been wanting to do that for a while. ^_^

17. Barebare I LOVE YOU
– Whee~, all of the bright colors~! =D Again, I love this song and dance, and I was happy with how my dance cover turned out. I think the outfits and the split-screened sections were better for this one, while the dance might have been a little more interesting for “Uppercut!”

– I was really happy with the split-screened sections in this one; even though there were supposed to be more of them, I think it works out well with the amount I had here. The main outfit for this dance cover is another favorite for 2013. There were a few rough spots for my dancing, but it wasn’t anything too terrible. (^_^”)> I got a little nostalgic doing a Buono! dance cover again… ^_^

19. Tell Your World [Short Vers.]
– I think it needs to be said… this has to be my favorite outfit for this year, and it’s defiinitely one of my top five favorites for all of my dance outfits. ^__^ This dance cover as well… it has to be one of my favorites for this year. I love how the coloring turned out, the dancing wasn’t terrible (though I still spotted a mistake or two), and the length was perfect. XD

– This dance is really fun, and the song is adorable, so I’d say that it’s in my top ten favorite dances for this year, perhaps even top five (the dance itself at least). The outfit, while cute in a way, borders on my usual, boring choices. XD orz

21. Wagamama Ki no Mama Ai no Joke
– From this dance, I learned that I shouldn’t try to put my own spin on dances. orz I was rather proud of it when I filmed it (even without the split screening that I wanted), and I still love doing the dance break that comes just before the verses, but this one didn’t seem to be very well received, which makes me kind of dislike it, too. TT_TT The outfit at least looked kind of cool.

22. Wa~ MERRY PIN Xmas!
– The wintry background that I usually have for my Christmas dances was missing in this one, but at least I had a little bit of decoration. (^_^”)> To be honest, I was really happy learning this dance, because there wasn’t a dance shot to compare it to; that made it a little more difficult to figure out the moves, but also somewhat more relaxing. XD Maybe I should do more of the older dances/dances without dance shots to lower my stress levels. XD As with my Minimoni. dance cover, it was a bit strange for me to do this one, because I don’t pull off cutesy moves very well. The outfits weren’t Christmas-y in the least, but they went with the song’s theme, so… (^_^”)> While I liked the ending clip for this one, I think my favorite ending clip for a Christmas dance cover is probably the one after “Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru.”

Well, those are all the dance covers I did this year. I’ve kind of given up picking favorites anymore, because I have something that I like about all of my dances~. How about you? Do you have a top ten or five or three for the dances I’ve done this year? Is there one that you would have liked better in a different location or if it was split-screened? Please let me know~!!

Lastly, I would just like to thank everyone for sticking with me throughout 2013. I’ve had a pretty rough year, so the fact that you’re all still watching my videos and commenting on them (if YouTube lets you… (-_-*)) really makes me happy. (Speaking of comments, please check out the annotation that I added to my FAQ video in regards to comment replies.) Even after the long breaks between dances, even after I stopped making tutorials and taking requests, even after some sub-par videos, you’re still watching, and I can’t thank you enough for that~.

Though 2014 will probably bring some more changes to my channel and videos (some quite significant), I hope you’ll still continue to support me throughout the year~.

Thank you again, everyone, for all of your support, and I hope everyone has a great New Year~! ^__^

お願いだから… (Dance Cover) Trivia

January 19, 2013

– As I said in the video description, this is one of my favorite Mano Erina singles (along with “My Days for You” and “Doki Doki Baby/Tasogare Kousaten” (and all the others, really, but I’m trying to narrow it down XD)).

– It took me a little while to figure out what I wanted to wear for this, because I didn’t want to have an all-white outfit so soon after “Shiroi Tokyo.” I chose an olive green shirt (though it looks a lot darker on camera than it is) because it reminded me of Mano-chan’s jacket on the cover.

– I actually learned the dance (for the most part) from Akari and Ayano’s dance video for this song. They did a couple things differently from the original in their version, so that’s how I learned the dance, but I did watch the original dance shot and tried to fix the few differences. A couple may have escaped me… orz Sorry!

– I’m fairly certain I’ve mentioned this before, but editing split screened videos has been kind of tough since I got my new camera (about a year ago). The videos are higher quality, so they play really slowly on my old computer. I can still edit them, but the audio is way ahead of the video. Then the video freezes and jumps to where the audio is. (^_^”)> That’s why I haven’t been doing much with split screening lately. m(_ _)m

– The shadow on the sheet over the TV is from our treadmill. XD

That’s all I’ve got for now~. Thanks for watching even though it wasn’t my best. orz

~2012 Wrap-Up Post~

December 31, 2012

Hey, look! A non-trivia post! =O

I had almost forgotten to do a post for the end of the year. (^_^”)> I got the last two days of the year off, though, so I actually have time to write something! … Not that there’s much to write about… I only managed to do twenty-nine dances this year. orz Here’s the full list (this does not include tutorials, mirrored and/or slowed dances, or miscellaneous videos):

Please Miniskirt Postwoman!
Sweet Magic
Makeruna Wasshoi!
Koi wo Shichaimashita! [Short Vers.]
Ochame Kinou
Pyoko Pyoko Ultra
DANCE Suru no da!
Hello/How Are You
3, 2, 1 BREAKIN’ OUT! [Short Vers.]
Sakura Mankai [Shorter Vers.]
Honto no Jibun
Renai Hunter
Seishun no Serenade
Shiawase Beam! Suki Suki Beam! [Short Vers.]
Hajimete no Keiken
The Matenrou Show
Momochi! Yurushite Nyan♡Taisou
Genkimono de Ikou!
Heart Beats
Wakuteka Take a chance
Doki Doki Baby
Shiroi TOKYO

Such a short list! D= I might as well talk about all of them.

– Kiramekirari
This was a fun dance~. I always love the high energy dances. This was also my first iDOLM@STER dance, which opened me up to another pile of potential dances. orz I love how short they are, and I like the music a lot of the time… but I already have so many dances to do! XD orz

– Please Miniskirt Postwoman!
This was the first dance I recorded with my current camera. It was actually recorded in HD, but I didn’t figure out how to save videos as HD in Movie Maker until after I had uploaded this one. (^_^”)> I actually really like how this video turned out: the outfit, the bag (though it was a pain to dance with), the background, and, of course, the song and dance. This song always reminds me of Christmas because I was practicing it a lot last Christmas. Also, whenever I want to feel cute, I say/sing Ayacho and Meimei’s shared lines because they’re adorable. ^_^

– Aitakatta
It’s a catchy song, but I don’t really see it as one of my more memorable videos. I actually forgot that I had done this one until I looked through my videos… (^_^”)>

– Sweet Magic
This is such a fun dance~! I really love the song, too (then again, I seem to love all of Junky’s songs). The windmill-type move is the highlight of this dance for me. As for personalized aspects of the video, I like this outfit, and I also rather like the cheesy cube effect during the carnival-sounding music. XD

– Makeruna Wasshoi!
This, I think, was another rather forgettable video from me. The only reason I remember it every time is because of the outfit; it’s not that I particularly like it, but… purple camo short pants. Seriously. XD

– Koi wo Shichaimashita! [Short Vers.]
This song is absolutely adorable, as is the dance, and I was so happy to finally learn it, because… well, yes, adorable!! o(>w<)o These were also a couple of my favorite outfits from this year’s dances. I kind of love the scarf-capes. =D I was happy with how the split screen turned out, too~.

– Ochame Kinou
I was also happy with the split screening in this one~.  This is also a fun dance, but there’s not too much to it. I wish I had worn brighter clothes for this song… orz

– Pyoko Pyoko Ultra
I’ve actually grown quite attached to the chicken outfit! XD Of course, it wasn’t quite as chicken-ish as the original ones, so I’m sure that helped. This is such a cute song~; it always puts me in a good mood! It made me sad that so few people seemed to like it. =( I liked having just a short split screened part instead of the entire thing for a change.

– DANCE Suru no da!
I’m always excited to dance to older songs, so I really enjoyed doing this video. Well, I should say that I enjoy the end result… filming was a bit of a nightmare. I’m a sucker for callbacks and references, though, so this video (along with my 50th video) always puts a smile on my face. And we can’t forget about the Vlog Gremlin! XD Again, I was happy with the split screening~. I always kind of enjoy filming the “other” (non-dancing) scenes for my PV-type videos. Also… super-epic ending split screen!! (Maybe not so much, but I liked it~.) =D

– Hello/How Are You
Though I hadn’t wanted to do this dance, I’m rather pleased with how it turned out… for the most part. I wish I would have smiled a bit, though the song does have a somewhat mellow, almost-sad feeling to it. I liked my outfit for this one, as well as the dreamy border effect. I’ve decided that I do like this song and dance. A little. XD

– 3, 2, 1 BREAKIN’ OUT! [Short Vers.]
I’ll admit it… I’m kind of proud of my Reina outfit. XD It’s not terribly accurate, but… whatever. This was a pretty fun one to do (hooray for the shortness!), but I remember that editing was a bit of a pain. I have some good memories of this song, though, so I didn’t mind the extra work… too much. XD

– Sakura Mankai [Shorter Vers.]
This has always been one of my favorite H!P songs, so I really wanted to do it justice. I took forever making the outfit work and deciding on the border, saturation, and other video effects. I’m pleased with how it turned out, and I don’t even mind that some of the dance moves seemed a bit strange for this kind of song.

– galaxias!
I’ll still dance to this one every once in while! As I’ve said a few times, I like short dances~. Overall, I was happy with this video, too! I don’t mean to sound smug or anything, but I actually liked everything about this one. (^_^”)>

– Honto no Jibun
This is another of my favorite outfits for this year’s dances… although… the red checks I put on that tie ended up staining pieces of my carpet permanently… which is not so great. orz Otherwise, I liked this one~! It almost goes without saying that I love this song, because it’s Buono!, and I absolutely love almost everything they’ve done. I remember being rather proud of my accuracy on most of this dance; I put my video over the original one, and I matched up rather well. ^_^

– Renai Hunter
I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this one. I kind of liked how the video turned out, but the reception was mixed (though I suspect a lot of people didn’t like the “crab” move). I at least like the split screened parts. (^_^”)>

This was another one that I was excited to do (old H!P song!), but it didn’t turn out to terribly great. I do like the hand twirls during the chorus, though.

– Jibun REST@RT
This is the last dance I did before I got my job… quite a fitting title, huh? XD Overall, this was a fun song and dance~, but I suppose it wasn’t groundbreaking.

– Seishun no Serenade
I’ve wanted to do this dance since Mano Erina’s practice video was uploaded to her channel~. I love this song (though, admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of the “Seishun wa journey” etc. parts (^_^”)>), and the dance was simple enough. I’m also happy with how the outfit turned out. =D

– One・Two・Three
… I liked this one. XD The outfits worked out well, and the dance was (and is) a lot of fun~! The split screened part is kind of fun to watch, even though I get cut out a bit at times. Another fun thing about this one is the fact that I took a picture of myself in my “Zukki” outfit holding a sign for the “Zukki Appreciation Project,” and it was included in the book, so Zukki now has a picture of me in (something slightly similar to) her “One・Two・Three” outfit! Aaahhh!! =D

– Shiawase Beam! Suki Suki Beam! [Short Vers.]
This is one of my favorite shuffle songs, so I was really happy to dance to it, even though it took a lot of careful practice and tons of replaying different live performances. I think I look a little spazzy in this, but that makes it more fun. XD This is one of those dances that I hope others will start dancing to since I did a one-shot dance video (even if I mess up a bit… orz).

– Hajimete no Keiken
This is such a pretty song~… and parts of it still remind me of Chrono Cross. XD I remember this being quite a pain to edit, but it didn’t end up looking too bad. I still love the transitions from split screen to regular. ^_^

– The Matenrou Show
I still like dancing to the dance break of this song~! This dance cover was actually uploaded to Nico Nico Douga (with my permission), so that’s something that I associate with it. It was kind of neat reading the Japanese comments. =) My outfit was a bit bland for this one, but I did like the fabric strips, and it seems that others did as well~.

– Momochi! Yurushite Nyan♡Taisou
Oh, how embarrassing. XD The outfit isn’t bad, but that hairstyle looks absolutely ridiculous on me. I just can’t pull off being cute. orz The dance is easy to jump into at any point, so, whenever I hear the song, I’m able to start dancing to it. XD

– Genkimono de Ikou!
This is another fun and simple dance to another fun and catchy song. It’s probably my favorite of the Mano Erina dances I’ve done (though it may tie with “Doki Doki Baby”). ^_^ Also… fun socks!! =D

– Heart Beats
I had been meaning to do this dance for a long time. I like to think that it turned out fairly… acceptable. =) I enjoy this song and dance, and I was happy to dance in that paticular spot again, because I think it’s one of the nicer backgrounds I use (I really should find more places to dance…). And I do like this outfit, despite it being super 90s. XD

– Wakuteka Take a chance
Another outfit I rather like~. I like dancing from 0:43 to 1:02 every once in a while, because I like the sound of that part of the song~. I wish I could have done some split screening for this dance, but, alas, I had no time. orz

This is another dance I’ll just jump into from time to time because I simply love it. Fine and Tsurutei’s dances are amazing. I’m happy with how well my orange top showed up on video~. I’ll also remember this dance as being the last dance I made (or will make, I should say) a tutorial for. Anyway… I love this song and dance~!

– Doki Doki Baby
This dance was supposed to be learned early this summer, but new dances came out, so I decided to do those first until I ended up pushing this one back half a year. O_O This is one of my favorite songs from Mano-chan, though I thought the dance shot was strange because it was a very narrow screen. o_O This is a cute dance, though~.

– Shiroi TOKYO
I was so happy to finally do this dance! =D Overall, even though I had to do an emergency editing job on the family computer for this (because my laptop is being worked on), I was pleased with how it turned out. The background, the border, and the outfit made this one of my top ten favorite dances that I’ve done this year. Plus, I just love this song. ^__^

Even though I just mentioned “Shiroi TOKYO” as being one of my top ten dances that I’ve done this year… I can’t actually choose the rest of them. There was something I really liked in all (or most) of them, but I would like to know…

Do you have a top ten? Or five? Or fifteen? Can you put all of them in order from favorite to least favorite? Or vice versa? Is there one that trumps all the others? Please let me know in a comment on here, my Facebook page, or even a personal message on YouTube~. ^_^

Thank you for continuing to support me even though I haven’t been as active this year! I hope everyone have a great New Year~!! ^__^

ドキドキベイビー (Dance Cover) Trivia

November 28, 2012

As usual, I don’t have much to say about this one… orz

– I was rather proud that I got the bow to stand up properly. After the first few takes, however, I failed to notice that one side was a bit loose, so the bow became lopsided. orz

– I was rather upset about one particular take because the camera randomly decided to stop recording. It didn’t shut off; it just stopped recording. It’s done that to me a few times before, but this was the first time it did it while I was filming something that I planned on keeping. (-_-*) I hope this camera isn’t giving up, too. T_T

– The red thing in the pocket of my shirt is a folded piece of wide ribbon. I originally bought that ribbon to use on my outfit for my dance cover of “Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai” (yes, that long ago), but I never did.

– As I mentioned in my “100 Facts” video, I love puzzles. I recently put together a 1000-piece Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) puzzle, a 300-piece Donald and Daisy puzzle, a 1000-piece Jack and the Beanstalk puzzle, and a 500-piece puzzle of a summer cottage. When I wanted to practice this (or any other) dance, I would have to move my puzzle mat (a large, foam board) up to my bed, then back when I was done. That process sometimes resulted in disaster. O_O

– The part that gave me the most trouble was the part around 3:12 to 3:23. I suspect that she was stepping randomly, but I wanted to match it as closely as possible, so I went through the trouble of trying to coordinate my steps accordingly. Also, I think I was a bit more animated than Mano-chan on a few parts of the dance…  I hope it didn’t look too strange. (^_^”)>

– My favorite part is probably the part right after the dance break. =D

– I have not yet been able to convince myself to buy a fluffy skirt/petticoat for videos such as this one, because I would probably only use it for dances, and I’m hardly able to record anything anymore… orz

– It’s been so long since I uploaded a dance, I almost forgot what to post and how to post this. O__O

That’s all~. Thank you for your patience, and thank you for watching~!

元気者で行こう! (Dance Cover) Trivia

September 1, 2012

– I’ve been waiting forever to wear a pair of my “fun” socks, but they never went with any of the outfits for other dances. I finally decided to change the color scheme (and pretty much the whole outfit…) for this dance cover. (^_^”)>

– I had an early shift for work the day I filmed this, so it was still light out when I got home. I decided that I wanted to get this dance filmed (finally) because I had time (finally) and I was still awake enough to dance (… finally). XD

– I concentrated so much on my outfit, that I completely forgot to reapply my makeup before I did this dance; it was mostly worn off after work, so my face looks strange (though I’m also squinting a lot because it was bright). orz

– Near the beginning of the dance, though I don’t think you can see it on camera, an acorn fell on the ground to my left and surprised me. XD I kept dancing though~~.

– I’m sorry… I didn’t have all of the lyrics memorized again, so I looked foolish… again. orz … I did have fun with the dance, though. (^_^”)>

– Is it just me, or does the “white button-up and black tie” combination show up in a lot of my videos… XD

That’s all I can think of for this one~~. Thank you for watching and reading!

はじめての経験 (Dance Cover) Trivia

July 28, 2012

– I first starting looking at this dance in… either late May or early June. O__O I had wanted to get it out earlier, but I never really had time to learn/practice. orz

– I was despairing over what to wear for the backup part(s) for the longest time, but I just happened to find a top that was similar in style and color (though it’s more gold than yellow… orz), so I bought that. I don’t usually buy clothes for my dances, but I’ve always liked peasant tops anyway. (It comes in three more colors… I’ve been fighting the urge to collect them all. XDD) Also, that top is size XS, but I still had to wear another shirt under it because it was kind of loose. Bah. (^_^”)>

– This video was absolutely no fun to edit. (-_-“) I had only learned Kanon’s part originally, so, when I filmed Saki’s part, my timing wasn’t quite right for the verse movements. I didn’t want to redo it, because the lighting had been perfect, and I hadn’t crossed the center line, so I ended up editing a bunch of little clips to try to fix the timing for the one side. (This was just for the first verse.) Besides that, the timing for the entire video just did not want to work. I had to render it four or five times before it finally turned out okay.

– This is the first split-screened video that I didn’t use my old laptop to edit; because the lighting was so consistent and because I stayed far enough away from the center (for the most part), I was able to use the split screening transition on my current laptop. The difference is that, with my old computer, there is an option for a soft split line (that is, the videos sort of fade into each other on the line) while my current computer only has a hard split line, which I don’t usually like the look of.

– I originally filmed movements for all six backup parts to use during the verses, but fading from one part to the next so quickly had an almost glitchy effect that I didn’t particularly like. =/ Instead, I opted for only two parts… with long, awkward pauses between moves. orz

– I didn’t memorize all of the lyrics, so I wasn’t able to lipsync to the entire song. Sorry! m(_ _)m

– My eyes were twitching like crazy while I did this dance. You know… that kind of twitch when there’s a really bright light, and you’re trying to keep your eyes open while your brain is saying, “SQUINT!” … Then again, I did have those daylight lamps on, so that might have been the case. XDD

– I filmed this at something o’clock in the morning on July 27th. I was going to film it on the 26th (because it was my day off), but I was asked if I could help out at work, so I did. When I got home, my mom suggested that I go to sleep right away so I could get up early and film the dance before I went to work, but I thought I’d have an easier time staying up later and filming instead of waking up early (I’m more of a night owl), so that’s what I did.

– I was rather pleased with how the fades from backup to main turned out. ^_^

– Oh my goodness, I just realized I made a really obvious mistake. I made a heart instead of putting my hands on my chest during the second verse. And the line was even “watashi”… orz Sorry, everyone! m(_ _)m Maybe I should quit before I ruin entire choreographies. T_T Wow, do I ever feel stupid…

I suppose that’s all~. Sorry for making you wait so long for a new dance… and then uploading something as not-so-great as this. orz Oh, and, just so you know, this isn’t my “2,000,000+ views” celebratory video; I’m still trying to figure out what I’m going to do for that. orz

~Update 52~

June 24, 2012

Hello, everyone~.
I figured that I should probably update my blog. (^_^”)>

First of all, just a reminder: I will not be uploading any more tutorials for the rest of the summer. Also, I do not take any requests for dances or tutorials. m(_ _)m

Now, onto something I’m sure more people would like to hear… what have I been doing that’s only allowed me to upload one dance cover all month?! Well, work takes up some time; worrying about work takes up some more time. XD I have been working on dances, though, and quite a few of them at that! Well, a few a least. I suppose it depends on how you define “few.” Anyway…

I’ve been listening to a lot of Mano Erina music lately, so I’ve been learning another one of her dances (maybe even more than one~). I’ve also been working on summery dances, though I don’t think I’ll be able to do a “Summer Set” like last year. I only have a couple of dances lined up. orz S/mileage’s “Dot Bikini” would have been a good choice, except I’m still on the fence about whether or not I should do that one. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with the dance… I just know I’ll get comments saying, “You should be wearing a bikini or short top like they are!” which I will absolutely not be doing. Plus, the only polka-dotted things I own are those two black-and-white skirts (as seen in dances like “Suki-chan” and “Sweet Magic”). orz

So~, be on the lookout for covers of Mano-chan’s song(s?) as well as a couple of summery dances. However! Before any of those, I need to upload my 250th video. Even though this is another milestone video, it’s only going to be a regular dance cover this time. m(_ _)m There will be something special about the day I upload it though (or, at least, the day I plan on uploading it). Ah… I’m sure I’ve given it away by saying that, huh? (^_^”)>

One last thing… I tried uploading my dance cover of “Be Genki <Naseba Naru!>” (which I filmed May 12th, or something like that) again, because I thought they might have changed the copyright settings by now. No such luck. orz The video with the audio overlay was blocked. I also tried uploading it with no audio overlay so that the song was kind of muffled, but it still blocked the video. It seems that you won’t be able to see that dance cover from me. T_T It’s a shame… I had a cape and everything. XD

Well, I’ve been rambling this entire post, so I should probably stop now. (^_^”)> Thanks for reading~.

青春のセレナーデ (Dance Cover) Trivia

June 7, 2012

– I was going to make the “zippers” white with red fabric surrounding them (that is, I drew a white line on the red fabric to look like a zipper), but I ended up flipping the ones that I had drawn on because it looked like I was wearing a bacon jacket. XDD

– The black “zipper” on my shirt is a strip of fabric just like the red ones.

– Forty-four safety pins were used on this outfit (forty-six if you count the pins that I always use to pin down the pull strings on the hoodie). O__O

– I was happy that the arm accessories were going to stay up because they were pinned to the (rolled-up) sleeves of my sweatshirt/jacket… then I remembered that those sleeves always fall. orz

– I’ve known this dance for I-don’t-kow-how-long, but I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had a chance to record it.

– My feet and knees have been rather sore from walking around and/or standing for long periods of time, but I felt it had been much too long since my last dance cover, so I recorded it today because I didn’t work as long today. I’m sorry if I seem a little stiff. m(_ _)m

– I’ve always felt that the little pause in movement just before the chorus was rather awkward to coordinate. orz

– My favorite part of the dance might be the “Yamete hoshii yo” line. My mom rolled her eyes at me when I told her that. XD

I can’t think of anything else at the moment. (^_^”)> Sorry for taking so long to post anything! m(_ _)m (By the way, this isn’t the post with the important information. (^_^”)>)
