10カラットの煌めき。 (Original Choreography) Trivia

– When I first heard this song (back when it came out), my first thought was “Simon and Garfunkel” just because of the “lai la lai” parts. XD Besides that, I loved the fact that Mano Erina had a(nother) song that wasn’t mellow or cutesy (though I like those, too!).

– I had originally wanted to do this dance outside (and I was even staying up until it got light out), but then I realized that I needed the “1, 2, 3” before the music (because the song starts right away), and I couldn’t bring my computer outside because the battery only lasts about four minutes (if I’m lucky) and there weren’t any outdoor outlets handy. orz

– My first attempt for the outfit included black pants, no buttons/pins, no necklace, and no purple belt. But you know me… always adding a billion accessories. XD Also, I felt like the version with pants looked an awful lot like the outfit for another H!P dance, but I couldn’t put my finger on which one it was. Probably something from °C-ute…

– The buttons I’m wearing are as follows: a Mano Erina picture, the name “Erina Mano,” and the old Hello! Project logo. They were a set that I got as a gift from a friend.

– The arm covers/wristlets/fingerless gloves/ whatever you want to call them are actually cut-up socks. XD The pattern on them is palm tree silhouettes in front of a sunset~.

– Though my hairstyle isn’t terribly complicated, I still needed about a dozen bobby pins to keep it in place… and even then it kept falling out because I was moving around so much. orz

– The arm spinning during the “lai lai lai” lines was, I believe, the first move I decided on. The manner in which I punched during those same lines changed many, many times until I finally settled on what you see in the video (and I’m still not sure if that one works so well orz).

– Multiple parts were changed right up until I actually filmed the dance. I didn’t even bother writing half of the changes (or even half of the dance) in my how-to file because I was pretty much able to remember what I wanted to do for each part.

– I’m sporting two small bruises in this video: one on my right arm, and one near my right kneecap. I have absolutely no idea what they’re from; all I know is that my makeup refused to cover them up so, whatever, I guess. XD

– I actually named the series of movements around 1:02 to 1:04 the “Kingpin,” because I had been watching Daredevil on Netflix around the same time that I was working on this choreography, so, for whatever reason, those movements always remind me of Wilson Fisk. … I know it makes absolutely no sense. XDD (I wonder if the relation will be as strong as SotN is with “Tokaikko Junjou”? XD)

– During the “naka ga/koi ga etc.” lines, I had originally tried writing out the kanji for “naka” (仲) and the katakana for koi (コイ) backwards in the air (so it would be correct for the camera), but I kept getting mixed up and it didn’t flow well, so I changed it to the palm/fist taps to the chest as seen in the final dance.

– This is probably my least favorite of my original dances so far, but that might have something to do with the fact that there’s no “interaction” in the dance.

– I totally dropped the ball on my outfit, because I didn’t wear some ridiculous, garish, fake diamond ring. XD

– I had to pin all of the belts down because they were such a menace while I was trying to dance. XD

– For whatever reason, I decided to paint my nails bright green earlier today, and I didn’t bother to clean it off for the dance cover so… yep. Bright green nails with my purple gloves. Yikes. XD

I think that might be it for this one… or probably not. I’m sure I still have more to say about the moves themselves, but I’m totally blanking on anything else, so I’ll leave it at this for now~. (^__^”)

Thank you for watching and reading!
