おこちゃま戦争 (Dance Cover) Trivia

– My first intention was to film this in front of a green screen so that I could move in front of myself, but, after setting everything up and filming, I realized that the lighting still wasn’t good enough to take away all of the green highlighting the screen caused. orz That wasted about ten hours of my day. TT_TT

– After that, I decided to just do it without the green screen, so I filmed everything as a regular split screen and edited it as I usually do. As I was looking up the name of the choreographer for my video description, I found a video of the dance I used that was the mirrored version of the one I learned from, however, it didn’t say anything about it being mirrored. Fearing the worst, I logged on to Nico Nico Douga and searched the original video… only to find that I had been learning from the mirrored version this whole time, so my dance was essentially backwards. orz That was a pretty horrible realization, as well as a waste of another two or three hours.

– After deciding that I would learn the dance correctly even if it pushed back the “release date,” I went to sleep… and then woke up incredibly sore from dancing the night before (because I really threw myself into the moves). orz Despite that, I practiced the correct choreography all day and thankfully managed to reverse it with very few problems.

– I split screened this dance on my newer laptop so that I could keep it HD, so the split line, when you can see it, is a hard line instead of a nice, blurred fade from one to the other. I don’t think it’s too terribly obvious… I hope…

– In my first take of the dance, I didn’t have the colored diamonds on my outfits; they were just black and white clothes with no colored accents. I decided that I wanted more color, so I added them to match the original video’s outfits a little more (though they’re nowhere near accurate).

– I used at least sixty-eight safety pins for these outfits (most of them were for the diamonds on the clothes). O__O

– The bangs/fringe I’m wearing for the girl’s part are, of course, fake, along with the ridiculous wig I have for the guy’s part. XD

– I had to mega-spray those bangs and pin the sides back so that they wouldn’t flop around and look so disgustingly unrealistic. XD

– Though I didn’t especially want anything in my “hair” for the guy’s part, I had to put a few bobby pins in because it kept getting in my eyes, and I couldn’t see anything. XD

– I first heard this song on an ARSMAGNA video, and I fell in love with the song’s fast pace (and, you know, the video). Since it was absolutely impossible for my to do their choreography, I searched for any other that I could find… and I found K’suke and Aoi’s version on Musumen.’s channel~ … which I also couldn’t do because of the amount of interaction between the two parts. orz I eventually happened upon Bookie’s choreography, which I immediately latched onto and was determined to do. I saved the video (the MIRRORED version which was NOT labelled as such grrr…) to my computer October 9th, 2014. I didn’t get much of a chance to work on the dance until late November or so (if I remember correctly), because I had so many other dances to do, and I was really busy with work. … To conclude, I love this song, and I’ve been waiting to do this dance forever. XD

– I had always practiced this dance with the sitting sections that the kids have in the original video at the beginning and end, and I originally had some chairs in the dance space, but I wanted to be able to move freely without worrying about running into anything, so I made last minute modifications to make it a standing-only dance.

– Besides that, I made quite a few other modifications to the dance to incorporate both the moves of the “siblings” and the “servants” from the original dance, though I followed the siblings for the most part.

– I tried to be really exaggerated with my facial expressions to better show the sibling rivalry… all that exasperation and irritation. XD I also added the two parts making faces at each other near the end, because I thought that fit the dance rather well. XD

I’m sure there’s more… but I can’t think of anything else right now because I’m so tiiiiirreeed!! It’s 7:30 AM… I’ve been working on this since about 1:30 PM yesterday, though I did take a few brief gaming breaks (level grinding on Bravely Default and Mario Party with my brother and sister). … I should probably eat something. And sleep. Sleep sounds good. So does food. I’m rambling now. And none of this will even be relevant by the time you read it, because I’m posting this after I wake up later today. Okay. That’s all~. Thank you for watching and reading~!! ^__^

I’m sorry, I’ve never commented here before but I love your work and I can’t believe you first heard this song on an Arsmagna video! I never realised you liked them and I’m so happy because you and Arsmagna are two of my favourite dancers out there 😀

Yes~! I love the theatrics and acrobatics they use in their dances… I’m just not always fond of the content of the lyrics in a lot of the songs they dance to. (^__^”) I’m happy to hear that you enjoy my dancing~! Thanks very much for watching my videos, and thank you for writing! =D
