Berryz Koubou Dance Tribute ~ 10 Year Anniversary ~

– The two things that actually took me the longest for this video were deciding my outfit and what I would do for the last twenty seconds of the dance (because, to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of most of the original dance (^_^”)>).

– I was originally going to split screen a bit and fade parts in and out while wearing each members’ color, but I thought that would be a little too much like my UP UP GIRLS (仮) dance covers (and “What is LOVE?”), so I decided against it. Instead, I went with black and white (though the shorts are actually dark blue…).

– I still wanted the member colors in the video, so I came up with the idea of writing their names out in kanji on construction paper.

– I was going to include Maiha’s name, but instead I referenced her by coloring the “Congratulations on” on the ending sign in her color (light blue).

– I started out coloring the kanji in with a permanent marker, but I quickly realized that, not only would it take too long, but the marker would definitely dry out after just a couple of pages. Also, I wouldn’t have survived the smell that long. orz I switched over to paint, which was much faster (and didn’t smell as bad).

– I tried doing this dance in my usual black boots, but their would either get caught on the straps that were hanging down, or they were too awkward for certain moves (I’m looking at you “Otona na no yo!” kicks).

– I desperately wanted to put my hair back, but I even more desperately wanted to be able to swing it around for the arm swings from “Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance.” XDD Not even kidding. I used a few bobby pins and a bit of hairspray (UGH) to keep my hair mostly out of my face.

– … I totally got my hair caught on my thumb at 1:34-ish. XDD

– Not that it has anything to do with this video, but I’ve been obsessively dancing to “Heart Beats” for the past week or so. Seriously. This is why I fall behind with my dance covers. XDD

– At first, I was trying to match moves to the lyrics, but, eventually, I just had to toss whatever wherever to get everything in. XD

– I was excited to be able to use moves from all of their songs, especially because 1) not all of them have dance shots, so it’s always fun doing those kinds of dances (some of their earliest singles), and 2) there are a handful of Berryz songs that I wish I could dance to because I love the songs, but there always has to be at least one move that makes me uncomfortable in the dance or something alarming about one of the lyrics. (-_-“) (I love “Ai no Dangan,” “WANT!,” “Sayonara Usotsuki no Watashi,” “ROCK Erotic,” and “Otona na no yo!” but I don’t plan on doing the dances… which is really too bad, since I know quite a bit of “WANT!”. orz)
