ブレインストーミング (Dance Cover) Trivia

– I filmed this dance on April 13th. I had tried filming it the day before, but that turned out to be a day of learning from the tons of mistakes I was making. XD orz

– This is not only my 300th YouTube video, it’s also my 100th Hello! Project dance cover~! Eeeheehee~!!! XD

– I had originally planned to do a multiple split-screened version of “Help me!!” (which is what I was talking about when I said I didn’t think I was quite done with that dance), but, after I saw the dance for “Brainstorming,” I decided to do that with this dance instead. So, unfortunately, it looks like I am done with “Help me!!” (^_^”)>

– This dance cover was originally supposed to be almost completely split-screened, switching from one person, to two people, to three people, to two people, etc., but it ended up being too time-consuming and too confusing when it came to learning everyone’s parts for the dance. I had to cut the special effects dramatically to save my sanity. orz

– I had wanted to have red and blue outfits like they did in the original video, but I didn’t want to wear skirts, and I could not, for the life of me, find (reasonably-priced) red shorts anywhere. O_O They were all pink or coral or orange or something along those lines. So, I went with the old standby: black and white. (^_^”)>

– I did have a little bit of color included in my outfits, though it’s hard to notice. For each of the members, I had a strip of fabric in their member color pinned around my left wrist. I think the only ones you can see really clearly are Daishi’s and Riho’s, but all of the others are there, too. ^_^ I should have had it on the right wrist…

– Some of my favorite parts of the dance include the dancing from ~0:10 to ~0:18, the hopping at ~0:25, the moves from ~0:33 to ~0:45, the kick and arm movements at ~1:07, the Riho/Daishi dance battle around 1:40, and the dance break around 3:13. I also kind of liked the “Sonna no kankei nee”-like stomp during the chorus. XD

– The members for each split screened part are as follows:
1:32 (L to R): Eripon, Riho, Daishi, Zukki
1:40 (L to R): Riho, Daishi
3:02 (L to R): Haruna, Haruka, Sakura, Sayumi
3:12 (L to R): Daishi, Riho
3:45 (L to R): Fuku-chan, Reina, Masaki

– The second arm wave for Zukki’s part got messed up in the editing process. orz

– As usual, this video is brightened twice and has a 1.25 saturation effect added so that it’s not quite so drab-looking.

– Since I learned Daishi’s part first, I kept doing some of Riho’s moves for the “dance battle” backwards. Once I finally got hers down, I started doing some of Daishi’s moves backwards. XD orz

– I had to be very careful with where I was standing for Daishi’s part, because I couldn’t cut off anyone else for the split-screened parts. If I did, I would have to film the entire dance over. O_O

– The differences for each part, besides the black-with-white or white-with black outfits and colored strip of fabric, were any of the following: long or short socks; presence or absence of fingerless gloves; number of buttons buttoned on the top; and hairstyle.

– I tried my best to make the hairstyles as varied as possible (tying and clipping my hair in such a way that it looks shorter for Masaki’s part, a side part with one side pinned back for Riho’s part, hair accessories for Sayu and Reina’s parts (though you can’t even see them orz), etc.).

– Please forgive the sometimes pained expressions on my face. As I said in the video description, I filmed this over a span of seven or eight hours, so I was a bit tired and frustrated (understandably, I hope… orz). m(_ _)m Also, you know all the pointing in this dance? You know how I always say to tense your muscles a bit to make moves sharper, but don’t tense them too much, because you’ll be in a lot of pain afterward? Guess who tensed her arms too much for this dance and had to pay for it while she was still filming. Here’s a hint… it was me. O___O  XD

– For the dance section starting at around 0:10, I would always slide my feet together when I brought my fists in near my chest because it felt more natural to kick out from that position as opposed to having my feet apart, but, once I saw the error, I worked on breaking that habit. … I think I still prefer my way of doing it. XD

– I was originally going to try dancing to this in shoes (because I have those boots that look similar to the ones they’re wearing) but, upon attempting it, I found that there was just too much friction for me to be able to move accurately and comfortably.

– I didn’t want some of the parts to be wearing long socks while they others were barefoot, so I decided to fold a pair of knee high socks down to about the level my boots would have been at (even though I don’t like socks at that length).

– The part where I kneel down and bring my hand back in while moving my shoulder up and down was surprisingly difficult for me to do properly because of the instability of my right shoulder. Instead of bringing it back steadily, I ended up moving it in time with the lyrics (which is entirely too much movement XD). Also, you probably notice that my right arm moves out a lot when I hop during the chorus. If I didn’t lock my arms next to my sides (which looked a bit unnatural), it would do that… orz

– I had to adjust the timing of the arm waves according to where I placed the part in my version otherwise two of them might go at the same time and there would be a big pause afterward (for example, I had to delay Sakura’s part’s arm waves or they would have gone around the same time as Haruka’s and left a big gap before Sayumi’s.)

– I was kind of skeptical of my white-with-black outfits at first, but I think I ended up liking them more than the other ones (I particularly liked Riho’s combination, even though my hair kept getting in my face XD). ^_^ Maybe it’s partially because I’ve worn something similar to the black-with-white ones many times before…

I guess that’s all for this one (I know, that’s more than enough! XD)~.

Thanks for reading, and thank you for watching, too!
