さくら満開 (Dance Cover) Trivia

– Though I mentioned the National Cherry Blossom Festival in my video description, I hadn’t heard of it before this year. (^_^”)> I’d say that’s fairly good timing… looking it up on it’s 100th anniversary. =D

– While we’re on the subject, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen cherry blossoms anywhere other than in pictures… sheltered life, I know. (^_^”)>

Okay, here’s the trivia about the dance cover~.

– This was filmed on March 17th.

– It almost looks like I have a lot makeup on in the beginning of the video, but I used a brightening effect on the video twice (look at how white that white is!) and then lowered the saturation to mute the colors slightly, so that messed with my skin tone/face in general, too. orz

– The “top” I have on is actually… go ahead and guess… yes a scarf. XD Well, shawl/wrap/whatever you’d like to call it. It was my cape from “Aitai Lonely Christmas.” =D I figured out how to make it into a top of sorts back when I was trying to figure out how to make a cape, so I decided that, if I couldn’t find anything better for this dance, I would wear that over a short-sleeved white shirt. I like to think that it’s at least somewhat convincing as a top. XD

– The “belt” is made up of light pink fabric (I just sewed the edges and then pinned it together) and a hot pink scarf (they’re everywhere! XD).

– The socks are the same, somewhat-slippery, white socks that I usually use with strips of fabric tucked into the tops. =D Those were a last minute addition, and I was rather happy with how they looked. ^_^

– The fan belongs to my mother. =) The only problem was that the little stud that is fastened to the other side of the pin that holds the fan together kept falling off, so I had to glue it on. I was afraid that it would fall off in the middle of the dance, because I’d probably never find it again in the carpet. o_o

– Speaking of afraid of something falling, no matter how tightly I tied the belt, I always felt like the fan was going to fall. O_O

– I remember reading in multiple comments on different videos of this dance that many people thought the majority of the moves were too “hip-hop” for this song, so I tried softening some of them. I’m not sure how well it worked… (^_^”)> I also left out the hip shake for the last line to keep the focus on the arm movement (ah, maybe I shouldn’t be playing around with the choreography like this… (^_^”)>).

– Replacing the fan in my belt looked so, SO awkward, but I couldn’t find a way around it. XD orz

– When I step toward the wall (around 3:36-ish), it may look like I took a normal-sized step, but it was a rather small step, and my arm still almost hit the wall (that’s why the next step was considerably bigger). I ran into that problem on every take, and yet I still forgot to move forward more the next time I did it. XD

– I almost dropped the fan the second time I opened it; you can clearly see my readjusting my grip. *fail*

– On one take, the only real problem I had with it was that my sleeve caught on my wrist for a moment during the last arm wave. So… yeah, I redid the dance. orz

– I realized that, with Gaki-san’s upcoming graduation, the last member of Sakuragumi will be gone. O_O TT_TT That was like an all-star group for me; it had so many of my favorite members.

I suppose that’s all. Is it just me, or did this dance have more trivia than usual…?
