元気+ (Surimuchan PV) Trivia

Now for some trivia on Surimu-chan’s 30th video: “Genki+”, which took over a month to make!

– I started working on a storyboard and a script for this PV in early April.

– The first scene and the last scene (where I was wearing the striped hoodie) was filmed April 17; we had actually filmed the day before, but it wasn’t working out (too cold; starting to get dark; we were laughing too much XD).

– I was going to wear a green t-shirt for the first scene, but I changed it to the black shirt with the striped hoodie because of the cold wind that was blowing the day we filmed those scenes.

– I have many bloopers from that first scene; I may upload them to YouTube later.

– The rattling sound in the beginning is the lens cap hitting the tripod as the wind is blowing.

– The book I’m reading is The Rose Garden Husband by Margaret Widdemer. It was published in 1914 and is virtually impossible to find anymore.

– The “storyline” (though there really isn’t much of one) is based on the lines, “Yasashii koe ga kikoeru/Yasashii sono koe ga.” Basically, I hear a kind voice, and I spend most of the video looking for its source. I finally find it in the end, but, just as I’m about to reach it… I wake up. … I told you it’s a weak storyline! T__T

– The second scene was filmed on April 18. We had to stop filming for a bit, because someone was walking their dog on the trail further up, and I wanted to make sure that they weren’t going to come our way. (^_^”)>

– In the video, I fall to the left (of the screen), but I sit up from the right. This was a subtle reference to the fact that this was, more or less, a dream.

– Excluding the dance shots, the scene with me in the trees was the last one we filmed. There were huge deer flies buzzing around me, so my worried face in that scene is legitimate. XD

– In that same scene, both my vest and hair got caught on branches during filming.

– For the line “Taiyou ga mabushikute,” I was supposed to cover my face when a branch comes flying at me, but, actually, the branch was flying away from me, so I just look silly. (^_^”)>

– After the second “Nee genki?” in the trees (when I’m partway up a tree), both of my feet got caught when I tried to get down. It’s on film, so it’ll probably end up in a blooper reel. XD

– We had, at first, filmed the scene where I’m wearing the polka-dotted skirt on the 18th as well, but the video was too dark to use, so we filmed it again five days later.

– You can see that I start to laugh a bit during the walking part of that scene; a car was coming down the road, and I was laughing because I knew it would drive past while we were filming… and it did.

– For the running scene, we had the tripod on the back of our ATV; my mom held it and made sure I stayed in frame while my brother drove. We had to do it twice, because, the first time, my scarf flew up and hit me in the face while I was running.

– The dance starting from 4:24 and on was just me doing whatever I wanted to. (^_^”)> I kind of like how it turned out, though.

– The four outfits were actually chosen carefully; the first one is me in the kind of clothes that I normally wear; the second is a more girlish me, which is hardly ever seen; the third is me with with a cooler feel (with influences from Johnny’s groups); and the fourth is a bit more fashionable (maybe?!) look (with influences from certain H!P outfits). Also note that, during the “Nee genki?” parts, the movements of the second “Surimu-chan” are softer or a bit cuter, while the movements and positioning of the third “Surimu-chan” are a bit rougher and almost irritated-looking. … Sorry about that. m(_ _)m

– At times, during the dance shots, I look really irritated or intense; the wind kept blowing my hair in my face. (-_-”) XD

Well, that’s all for this one~. I already know which song I’m going to use for my next PV-type video. (^_~)
